Ted Meline puts Georgia on top

Post by jhopduck »

Just got done with his visit and did not commit. However after the trip he now claims that Georgia is his leader. Sounds kind of flavor of the week sort of, but as long as he visits we have to like what could happen there.

"At the end of the day, Meline had a lot of praise for the Bulldogs. Before the visit, he said Oregon and Georgia were tied on top of his list, but that is not the case right now."
“Georgia is on top by themselves now and I really liked it up there. My interest in them is very high and I liked the facilities, the coaches, the atmosphere, the people, and the depth charts. They had everything I want at Georgia and I liked it up there a lot.”

well if he liked georgia's facilities he's in a for a pleseant shock when he sees ours. hopefully we will blow him away when he is here because of the distance I feel that's what we have to do in order to get him

This is somehwat good news for Oregon. It was feared he would commit to Georgia on the spot at their camp.

Now, at least Oregon will have a shot at him.

Agreed. I'm sick of having other schools being the last school a recruit visits before deciding. The facilities are a great selling point but as time drifts by I think the recruits have a tendency to forget about them, whereas if Oregon is the last school they visit before committing that is a HUGE advantage. I think Meline not committing to UGA on the spot is a positive because now he gets to have a look at ours last, not first.

We won't be the last school he looks at, it's March...11 months from LOI day. He'll visit other schools, even if he verbals to us.

Has he actually said that? A lot of recruits stop taking visits after they commit. In fact I'm pretty sure most don't.

Well, it is never too late for Tennessee to swoop in... or DABO SWINNY could get interested as well.

It's too early to get excited or disappointed with the 2010 recruiting class. LOI day is 11 months away. Personally, I'm going to think about the 2009 class and the upcoming season before I worry about the next class.

If he was swayed that much by his Georgia visit he'll have a better experience here that will swing him over to our side. I think we get a commitment out of him.

No he didn't say that, my point is that it's March. If he were to visit and verbal to us there are still 11 months for him to be wooed by other schools. He'll probably visit some others, but hopefully he would stick with us
