If the depth chart is the deciding factor:

Bolden, ranked as Scout.com’s No. 8 quarterback nationwide, says he now has 16 scholarship offers and continues to deny a leader. “I’m in the process of narrowing down my list,” he said. “I should have a top five by the end of April.”
Although Bolden remains wide open, he says he knows what he’s looking for in a program.
“I want to go where they have an offense that fits me and where I can play,” he said. “I’m not gonna go where they are recruiting two or three quarterbacks and have a bunch of guys already.
“I want to be able to play early,” he said. “So I’ll definitely be checking out the depth charts.”

I'm not sure that he will find a school on the level of Oregon where he can come in right away and play. After Masoli and Thomas, Oregon doesn't really have much at qb for the future.

Well if he thinks he can beat Thomas out, he'd only have to wait a year. I don't this eliminates us, because after Masoli (who will be a senior when Bolden gets here) we have no proven backups. That's not a knock on DT, he just hasn't played much at all yet. If he's willing to compete for the job, he could get it as a sophomore.

The depth chart is one of the Ducks' biggest strengths recruiting Bolden. A person would be hard pressed to find a major program anywhere that has less competition for playing time for a young QB.

I agree with Vinny, and on top of the fact that Bolden would only be competing with Darren Thomas for the starting spot. With the lack of scholarships we have we are only going to take one QB this year. That will play a big role in Boldens recruitment.

If something goes wrong this year, it could be that Bolden comes in as the only underclassman quarterback. Kelly is touting Thomas as the most improved player we have, and he's certainly more of a fit than Roper or a gimpy Costa. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still on the travel squad this year and possibly a true backup.

I hope and pray that Masoli stays injury free this year so Darren Thomas can redshirt. Knock on wood.

Well, we lost a few high profile recruits to teams that didn't fit what they claimed to have wanted. Maybe it will work out in our favor this time. I am not holding my breath though. It really sounds like we are not what he is looking for.

That's how I see it too. Bolden can come in, redshirt one year, and battle DT for the starting job. That's a very promising opportunity to start after only one season! And he'd still potentially have 4 years to start.
