As much as we all would have liked to see this talent and potential in a Ducks uni, it continues to look like Oregon dodged a huge fiasco by whiffing on Pryor... What a head case.

If what the "former friend" says is accurate at all, I doubt Pryor would have liked Eugene much anyway... Not enough opportunity for his budding entrepeneurial spirit. The pattern of behavior that led to his suspension at tOSU doesn't jibe with his expressions of altruistic motives.

"Whenever I write my book, the proof will be in there, the receipt that the money I gave my mother was to pay the electric and heat bill," Pryor told Sports Illustrated. "The truth is going to come out one day when the time is right. I don't think I deserved (being punished) in that way, because of the reason I was doing it. I felt like I was doing God's work in a way, and I was getting driven into the ground."

"Pryor's claim that he spent memorabilia-related money only on his family stands in contrast to the findings of an ESPN "Outside the Lines" report last June. A former friend said Pryor would spend his money lavishly at times, that the player had a "shoe fetish" and bought many expensive hats, belts and pieces of jewelry. The former friend said Pryor was particularly fond of Gucci items. ESPN independently confirmed Pryor made multiple such purchases."

"The friend told "OTL" that Pryor made thousands of dollars autographing memorabilia in 2009-10 that were not documented in the NCAA's report."

Listen to the video and listen to the accompanying podcast... There is some pretty compelling information. Makes it sound like a culture of non-compliance by both tOSU and the players.

His ego is big enough for it's own zip code. Think what it would be like if he actually accomplished anything.

Yeah kid is a CLOWN for sure. He wouldn't of lasted at Oregon with the way the Boss runs the team. I don't think he was doing God's work in anyway, By getting over 8 car's in a two year span and all the money and just everything.

I worked for a local Toyots dealer for a couple years, while Bill Musgrave was at Oregon... Bill drove a 4 wheel drive standard cab Toyota pickup for most of his time at Oregon. He paid a fair price for it, but the only sweetheart part of the deal was the fact he was told that price up front, and didn't have to go through the dickering process most normal buyers did.

Helluva contrast to a 6 hour test drive, across state lines, eh?

These close encounters with shady characters like Pryor are why the Oregon coaches now examine the backgrounds of recruits as closely as any staff in the country before pursuing them.

I think he gets too much heat. He's not doing much different from everyone else he's just the former #1 recruit at a huge college. Pryor was the first guy to really get me into college football. I followed his recruitment when I was in like 7th or 8th grade and even played sick on NSD to see where he would go. He ended up postponing it to a later date and picked tOSU. Whatever though. If we had him we would have easily won that Rose Bowl and probably many other games in his era.
