In a little over three weeks, it would have been a year ago that I stumbled upon this site to chat about LSU’s season opener against y’all. I was wondering if y’all heard any rumblings from the huskies when it comes to facing us this year?

Well Bud, as a general rule of thumb I avoid talking football with Husky fans (delusions of grandeur and what not)...my two cents though?

Keith Price is a baller. Not a lot of Duck fans want to hear it, but it's true; the guy can play. Legitimately might be the best QB you guys will see until potentially the Natty (Aaron Murray might disagree). He's got a fairly talented WR corps and an excellent young TE to throw to--but they're losing a lot in the running game w/ Chris Polk gone. Their OLine will be improved, but not dominant. Defensively I think they'll be just average; with a couple of standouts maybe in the front 7.

Overall, your defensive front should be able to pressure Price without bringing too much extra heat. Will keep him uncomfortable and moving around, though he'll still make a few plays to be sure. I'm really interested to see how the LSU offense progresses after that abortion of a game for the title last year.

IF LSU plays focused, I don't think you'll have much trouble. Sit back and let Price gain some confidence/momentum though, and you could find yourselves in a fight.

Don't see too much talent in their WR corps, TBH. Are you saying that because 4* Cody Bruns might not start? lol

Welp, I admit I tend to lump the TEs in when I think of receiving options, so you're partially correct; Serferian-Jenkins is a stud. Though I don't think their WR cabinet is bare. Kasen Williams is a very good player, James Johnson will be solid, I actually am not a Bruns basher so I think he adds value when he's healthy (BTW would have probably excelled in an offense like ours in my opinion), Jaydon Mickens and Josh Perkins have the potential to contribute and are certainly talented.

Perhaps not overly talented, but certainly not devoid of talent. Again if you consider the two young TEs I think the Fuskies have some very decent options for Price to work with.

I've been hearing Bruns may start. Also, it doesn't matter how good Price is really. He has 0 run game and a O-line that is walking wounded already before the season even starts. I think his knees will be in worse shape this year then they where last year when we faced him.

I expect a game similar to the UO LSU game last year. I think UW will hang close for a quarter then LSU puts it away and UW grabs a late TD or two to bring it back to a respectable score. 38-21 final IMO

Kasen Williams is a stud but he will be handled by Mathieu. Sefarian-Jenkins will prolly be found as a release a few times when LSU brings the pressure and Johnson is a steady receiver. I think UW will make some plays and get some passing yards but without a run game they'll stall short of the endzone and that will be their failing in this game

Mingo and Barka(saurus) will camp out in UW's backfield. Price will get sacked more than five times.

I'd take the under on UW gaining 300 yards.

Price is talented, but nowhere near a Dixon, Young, Vick, Newton, Pryor-esque talent. Agree that ASJ and Williams are quality players. Is Callier the #1 back? Hope he is practicing biting his lip and letting his mind wander to a happy place.

UWs best D tackle went to the NFL. Secondary is not very good.

UW is about at the same level as Kentucky under Coach Brooks.

I hope and pray this bloodletting is nationally televised.

If the current level of performance were to continue, a neame change to, "Hucksters," might be deemed appropriate.

F the Huskies. Seriously I dont see em scoring 10. I keep hearing this year UW is gonna be better...and they dont get any better. Unless LSU has probs of gigantic proportions no fn contest. JMO

I would love to see LSU beat them by 40, I couldn't care less about conf perception in this contest.

That is the same person....his name is Barkevious Mingo...though he is such a baller it seems like there is two of him when he is on the field. Sam Montgomery is the other starting DE...the better one out of the two IMO...I love watching those two on the field.

I'm interested in seeing how "Freak" Johnson has developed over the summer at tackle, he should see a lot more playing time this year.

When you have the ball, you're just going to run it down their throats. I don't doubt Wilcox won't have a good scheme to attack your run game (I imagine they are going to sell out against the run and pray the ghost of JJ takes over Mettenberger's arm for this game) but they lack the athletes to consistently stop you. In fact, you could see a repeat offensive performance from the NC and you'll still win by 20+ because Bammer's 3rd stringers would have fared better than the poodles will.

When the poodles have the ball, you're going to like it. Price isn't a bad QB but this isn't a good match-up for him because he's going to have to win it with his arm - which means he may not make it for 4 quarters if his OL can't protect him. DO NOT expect this to be a game. If you are trying to use our game as a barometer for this one, you are going to be disappointed. That was a game between 2 of the best teams in the nation. This is going to be a poodle team that may not even make a bowl game this year with their schedule. It's going to be a awesome season for u-duh!
