The Nets are really looking to be the biggest player this summer. They'll likely resign Deron, Wallace, Lopez, and Humphries and then get Jason Kidd and a couple other mid-level players. Also, there's talk of getting either Joe Johnson or Howard.

The thing is they'll likely be really over the salary cap after all these signings, which means they won't be able to offer much to player's who'll fill out their bench.

nothing wrong with offering some min contracts out. There's always some solid leftover guys out there. Didn't Miami kinda do that?

MLE? What are we offering?

I like it. I'd like to have a veteran PG honestly to help us out.

They are? I thought he was headed back to the Clippers. He must have really liked Olshey to consider this.

But when you have players like LeBron and D-Wade, you can get away with it. Deron Williams and Joe Johnson are nowhere near that same level.

to Deron's defense, he is one of the best PGs in the game. But yes, I do get your point. Well I think they have built a strong enough core to be a 3-6 seeded playoff team in the East. I guess for them, that's a substantial step up.

They haven't offered him yet, but they are contacting him, not know any more info than that..

"CSNNW.com has learned from a source close to the situation that the Trail Blazers are one of several teams who have reached out to the representatives of unrestricted free agent point guard Chauncey Billups.

The Trail Blazers need a veteran point guard to help mentor their new franchise point guard in Damian Lillard, and Billups would be an ideal candidate. I'm told that, “Billups is exploring all of his options.”

I like the idea, if blazers can't sway Eric Gordon from hornets then billups is not bad choice. I have doubt in him due to injury he had recently.

the nets look better (obviously), but that's a lot of money for a team that probably has a second round ceiling. i still don't see them getting past miami or chicago, and probably not boston, either, depending how boston fills out the rest of their team.

If Portland signs Hibbert (unlikely) and match a Batum offer (likely)... Then I believe they have a 24 hour window to spend 5-6 million. If healthy I think Billups would be ideal. He could play both guard spots and mentor Lillard.
