Good job mops. I think our WR core can be pretty darn good this year. If Chris Harper and/or DJ Drew could step it up, we'd be dangerous.

I am excited to see what kind of production Az can get from the D-line.

I didnt want to include this in the piece simply because I hate comparing players to other players, but when watching Harper during the drills with WR the person I went to practice with we started thinking of what he reminded us of.

Michael Crabtree was the player we got. Long arms, very athletic, very big, and very explosive.

Coach AZ brings a different style to the defensive line and sure looks like a great motivator. During an 11 on 11 drill he literally would be seen running into the play while its still going on to teach a player up or to praise him. One drill he ran into the middle of the play and started barking at Kenny Rowe to "Show me your ******* best!, Show me! I wanna see your ****** best!" and the very next play Rowe had great pressure and Coach AZ just like the play before was there next to Rowe during the play screaming thats what he wanted to see.

The d-tackle situation sucks because it sure likes like all of the other pieces are in place this year. I think the offense has a good chance to be even better than it was last year.

I think we will find that Coach Kelly demands results from his coaches... Failure to produce may have consequences unseen during the Belloti tenure.

If that is the case then Alliotti might start thinking about asking Mike if there are any openings in the AD side of things unless the defense starts playing with more consistency year to year. Maybe he can be Bellotti's secretary....

Mops, you start out by talking about Kelly's uptempo pace. I know they didn't have any problems with it last year, but do you (or anyone else) think it might help with the fast-paced no huddle the Ducks run?

Im not too sure what you are asking. Are you asking the reason the tempo is sped up is because they run no huddle?

Mops, did blount look to be in good shape? or did it look like he has been slacking in the off season? same question about masoli?

Blount was out with an ankle injury. I didnt know the extent or the reasoning so I didnt include it. Prolly should have included he was out with an unknown injury though.

Masoli looked leaner, but was rusty and that simply is because of the time off. He did throw a good ball down field a few times. Last year his throws were short and on a rope. Today he's balls had some air under it and a tad of touch.
