Great USC preview, ranked 5th
This site has amazing previews for every team from worst to first. I have read nearly all of them. USC is 5. Oregon hasn't appeared yet.

Re: Great USC preview, ranked 5th
"So why don’t I have U.S.C. as the best team in the country? Because I’m not confident in the Trojans’ ability to beat Oregon once, let alone twice. This fact has a tremendous amount to do with the team’s issues on the defensive front. As we know, the Ducks are going to exploit this perceived weakness from opening kickoff to final whistle; Chip Kelly always goes for the jugular, and with U.S.C. lacking experience and depth up front, Oregon is going to do whatever it takes to force this defense to simply run out of gas along the front four. Maybe U.S.C. can get the better of the Ducks once; I cannot see it happening twice – and if the Trojans do lose a game, it would more likely be in the Pac-12 title game, not at home in November."
"There is every reason – every single reason – to think that U.S.C. can win its league and the national title. For me, however, Oregon is the pick in the Pac-12."

Fair enough, I also think the odds are against either team winning twice.

Same. A lot will be made of whoever wins Nov. 3rd, but I feel like there is no way the winner also wins in the Championship and we see a similar situation to LSU-Bama last year. Hopefully it doesn't cost the conference champion a shot at the NC.Braveheart wrote:Fair enough, I also think the odds are against either team winning twice.
The only situation otherwise is if, God forbid, the loser on Nov. 3rd suffers an injury to a key player that tips the board enough to allow the other team to win twice.

Most likely, although if USC wins on Nov 3, and has home field advantage for the Pac-12 championship game, that's still a pretty tall order for Oregon.Braveheart wrote:Fair enough, I also think the odds are against either team winning twice.

The same could be said if Oregon wins at the Coliseum, in which case Oregon will then have home field for the CG. Awfully hard for USC to have to play at Autzen when they couldn't even win at home. just throwing it out there...UOducksTK1 wrote:Most likely, although if USC wins on Nov 3, and has home field advantage for the Pac-12 championship game, that's still a pretty tall order for Oregon.Braveheart wrote:Fair enough, I also think the odds are against either team winning twice.

That's why i think usc has a better shot at 2-0 than we do. They would get both at home. We would have to win one on the road and one at homeUOducksTK1 wrote:Most likely, although if USC wins on Nov 3, and has home field advantage for the Pac-12 championship game, that's still a pretty tall order for Oregon.Braveheart wrote:Fair enough, I also think the odds are against either team winning twice.

Great in-depth analysis by whoever wrote that article. Well done.
If any of you have time, it might be a good idea to brush up on other Pac-12 teams by checking out his other team previews. Helped me get familiar with other teams.
