Munchie is the starting qb for cinncy and has them up 14-0 midway through the second. Pittsburgh got a td but the refs made a horrible holding call that took it away.

Although i had a former Pitt player at my house on saturday watching the ducks game. It was cool picking his brain about recruiting process and what not

Munchie with a 77 yard run to set up a td for the bearcats rb, 24-3 cinncy. Pittsburgh keeps getting into the redzone and then their offense looks terrible once they get in it.

Nice 99 yard td drive led by Munchie to put the game away. I saw a stat on the game that the ducks have 60 runs of 30 more yards since 09, I wonder if second is even 30.

Munchie, Tahj Boyd...who are some other qb's that Oregon has pursued in recent memory who have turned into quality QBs?

We were leading for Munchie abd then we stopped recruiting him. It worked out for both parties.

We'll see about Johnny Manziel on Saturday, and Hundley looks promising?

I thought Munchie wasn't going to qualify anywhere?

My brother in law’s college roommate played on the Pitt football team. He said that about once a week there would be a knock at the door and when he opened it no one would be there but there would be a bag of groceries or what not. It really crushed a lot of my “they don’t all cheat” thoughts.

My brother in law’s college roommate played on the Pitt football team. He said that about once a week there would be a knock at the door and when he opened it no one would be there but there would be a bag of groceries or what not. It really crushed a lot of my “they don’t all cheat” thoughts.

My younger brother tutored a few football players at Oregon in the late 1990's/early 2000's... he has some pretty interesting stories about little things like you mentioned above. He said they always had money, nice clothes, never paid for anything it seemed, etc... 95% of the time they didnt have to study (the guys he was tutoring were in specific classes) and would breeze through courses, hmmmmmm?!?... everyone "cheats" to a certain extent.

My sister did the tutoring at U of O for undergrad and then moved up to UW for Grad school. I know that the athletes aren't going to school because of how smart they are but it really bothered me how easy they had it. I busted my butt through college to graduate and the stories she told me, some of the guys could barely spell and still graduated from the same university as me. Firsthand, I saw it my freshman year when, living in Barnhart, the football players on my floor mysteriously had a 'pre-test' for a BA101 midterm and that 'pre-test' was IDENTICAL to the real midterm. The only difference was that they switched question numbers and the corresponding multiple choice answers. It was the same thing in DSC 199 when I took it my sophomore year. Half the guys in the class never came and probably couldn't build an Access Database to save their lives, yet ended up with 90+% on the tests/in the class. Granted, not ALL of the athletes are like this but it does leave a bad taste in your mouth. I had quite a few classes with Michael Speed (backup DL in the mid 2000's) and he was one of the most motivated students I've ever worked with. Kid busted his butt in the classroom and knew what doors it would open. I had nothing but respect for that guy and does help with the stigma that they are all stupid. Best story though is from my sister tutoring up at UW. She was in a tutoring session when Purple Geez himself came in. Dude is as dumb as he looks. Crazy that these guys who are dumber than doorknobs are able to play in such complex offenses and process so much information, especially at the QB position. I know Duck07 has some stories, specifically about the 2007 team . OK story time over.

Umm, no I don't, lol.

Teddy Birdseye(sp) the starting QB at L'ville, was another we liked. In fact he might be better then Munchie.

Our staff really seems to be good at identifying talent.
