Shaw likes his options

One of the elite athletes in the West is two-way standout Joshua Shaw (Palmdale, Calif.). He is getting looks as receiver and corner.

As a junior, Shaw caught 27 balls for 441 yards and five touchdowns to go with 40 tackles and four picks on defense. He earned first-team All-League, All-Southern Section and All-County for his efforts and is definitely someone to watch closely.

"Recruiting is going great right now. I have three offers with Oregon being the most recent. Washington and San Diego State have also offered and Iowa State is close as well. I think they're going to offer soon as they told me they want me to call the head coach this week," said Shaw. "I feel like my stock is rising fast right now. I'm taking an unofficial visit to Washington April 25 for their Spring game and will be at the Nike Camp at USC next Sunday. Right now, I'm working hard and my goal is to make one of those All-American games, so we'll see what happens."

That's probably a good thing. His WR stats aren't as impressive as his defensive stats.

I went to Palmdale High for two years. If I remember correctly, we were looking at an O lineman last year or the year before from Palmdale. Also, Andre Crenshaw is from Antelope Valley High in Lancaster.....Palmdale's main rival. Commuter area for LA, when I was there, and Aerospace area, when I was there. I can see why we're finding talent from the area.
