LA Tech just can't keep a good coach from the poachers.

Wonder who will have more success in the Pac 12, Dykes the student or Leach the teacher? Not sure having both guys in the conference will help the other, as now D have the advantage of playing against it twice a year.

Excellent hire for Cal. Dykes is the real deal. Will be interesting to see which assistant coaches he hires.

Makes 3 spread teams in the North and possibly 3 in the South pending CU hire. Makes for good balance.

Spread is a relative term though. What Cal and WSU run are nothing like we run. In fact it's closer to what Ericson ran at OS and asu then our read option. Also UCLA, asu and UA run the spread. So there could be 4 in the south.

This hire scares me not gonna lie.

I really don't like playing against other spread teams, because the potential in that type of offense can be dangerous. But honestly, Oregon's D seems to do solid against spread offense teams, and I don't think anyone in our conference will ever get it to the level we have it at.

Dykes is legit, but so is Rich Rod. 49-0. Granted, that's one game, but I think Oregon will be able to match up against teams like this.

Agreed...but I fall back on the idea that it's better to have all the conference teams be great than the 2+ format we currently have. That's the only way to diminish the SEC love fest
