At Tuesday’s session, Dunlap conducted the drills, with one of the other assistants helping and UO coach Ernie Kent watching. When the allotted time ended, he had the players meet with the head coach. After practice, the staff discussed what had transpired, and will meet this morning to plan the next session.

“They’re athletic, they want to learn, so let’s go,” Dunlap said of working with the players. “I’m part of what the improvement has to be.”

On the court, it’s almost exclusively Dunlap talking, urging or critiquing, with Kent’s view that “we don’t want too many voices” offering the possibility of confusion among the Ducks on the intent of a specific drill.

Sounds to me like EK is the "associate head coach" not Dunlap. Which a huge positive IMO.

“We haven’t even dribbled the ball yet,” Kamyron Brown said of the first two sessions with Dunlap. “He’s just breaking down the game, going back to the basic fundamentals that we looked over and we don’t think we need, and he’s bringing them back and showing us how much we need it.”

Hey, it's a step in the right direction...

“The big difference is you have somebody who is a great teacher and has taught for many years so they have a method of how to teach,” Kent said. “They’re real set and precise in their method, so they’re able to get their message across really well.

“He does a good job of getting the guys to respond to what he’s showing them.”

I thought that was what a coach was supposed to be doing?

So here is how I'm going to look at things for next season:

If Oregon wins and does well, I'm going to credit Dunlap.
If Oregon has another disappointing season, I'm going to blame Kent. Sound good?

It sounds great...Dunlap has to establish himself and EK...well I don't think he has a choice in this!

I just want to win and I don't care how it happens!

GO DUCKS!!
