SC was about to get spanked by the NCAA, everyone turned them down. That's how they got stuck with Lame. My guess is Riley is a small town guy, from Corvallis played at bama, and Madison is a lot more attractive then LA.

Yeah, and you would know that? They only reached out to two people (Mike and Lane).

We may not have heard about it, but I'm fairly certain the all-mighty University of Southern California interviewed more candidates than just Mike Riley and Lane Kiffin.

If Mike Riley really is interviewing at Wisconsin, then I can't help but think he might take the job, if offered. I could see him at a place like Wisconsin, and he's got to be curious about what he could do at a school that draws much better athletes than Oregon State. Plus, he's got to know that Oregon State is going to be playing in the shadows of Oregon, Stanford and USC for the next few years.

Maybe it's relevant, but Waukesha County Airport is more than an hours drive from Madison. Dane County Regional is 20 minutes from campus and another half dozen airfields are closer than Waukesha. It would be like Rob Mullins driving to fly out of Salem rather than Eugene.

Well that shows that someone from WI came to OR, not the other way around.
