Ducks Attack Message Board Forum

Can any of you data hounds (Mops, Wounded, Jhop...etc) track down who is on their short list? It would be interesting to see who they are looking at and try to figure out what BBrown would think of them.

Are there even any "big names" out there? Anyone that could blow his socks off?

I am just curious and I wasn't able to track any info on my own.

Curious why they want a pro set offense with Jacory running their offense? I wonder if they think pro-style would be a better fit for the rest of their players or if they think it would appeal to Brown?

As far as their OC in another thread they mention the OC at Louisiana Tech and I've read on K States Scout board that Ron Princes name had come up as a possible candidate.

Probably the latter (an effort to appeal to Brown to try to keep him)

The consensus from 2 miami boards i have been to are that they do not know who is going to take over or even some candidates. sounds like they are keeping it pretty quiet. They really hated Nix.

Was wondering the same thing at the Emerald Bowl. Jacory seemed like he would have really benefited from a zone/read if nothing else to buy him some extra time.

What is interesting is Miami had the #2 offense in the ACC and the year before Shannon fired the DC and so another mediocre year of underachieving he had to blame someone and since he fired the DC in 2007 he decided to blame the offense and canned Nix. Shannon won't be around much longer.

According to KSU fans, BB is not a fan of Ron Prince, that might actually work in our favor if they go with him.

just read the article, they named a couple nfl guys and about 5 possible college choices but none were big names or guys i had even heard of before. sounds like they really have no clue at this point but they're trying to change towards a pro-style offense. seems strange with jacory harris as the guy set to start next year, but imo it could really hurt their success switching it up ala rich rod at michigan this year. also bryce brown info will now be posted at http://www.potentialplayers.com and he will update it at least once a week should be up by the end of thursday thats about all i can say without breaking the rules.

Names being batted about:

While the school and Shannon are playing this very close to the vest, names like Mark Whipple, Marty Galbriath, Charlie Stubbs, Mike Debroad and Mike Kueck... Coaches with a history running wide-open explosive pro-style offense, have been spouted on their forums. Of course Shannon doesn't appear to want "wide open".

On a side note, one of their threads brings up a couple of interesting names... Mike Shula, QB coach of Jacksonville, and Al Borges, the former OC at Oregon.

While it is thought that Borges does not recruit off campus, that may not be a problem for for a school that has "the pick of the litter in South Florida".

Other than that, nobody seems to be talking much...

The problem wasn't the coordinators. The problem is Shannon. He just isn't a good coach.

Supposedly, Nix wanted to open up the Offense, and Shannon didn't... 2 billy goats butted heads, and the loser was sent packing!
