Two days after signing two 5* running backs USC fired the RB coach.

These kids have to love playing for such a stand up sort of guy... Tell me again why the USC class of '13 includes 13 kids, counting EEs?
Oh, well. They probably weren't smart enough to play for Oregon, anyway.

That would mean firing himself and that takes guts to fire yourself.

True. I don't think Kiffin has the stones to do it.

You can't deny the amount of wasted talent at the RB position at USC though.

Since Bush and White left, they have severely underachieved. Joe McKnight did alright, but that's it.

Using the premise that DAT isn't truly a running back, Barner and Marshall averaged 6.4 and 5.1 yards per carry. Silas Redd and Curtis McNeal averaged 5.4 and 6.0 YPC. The problem isn't the RB's under performing, the problem is the play calling.

In all fairness, it hasn't necessarily been the offense that has been the issue.

More Kiffin hilarity

"I think he's going to be a great starting quarterback in the NFL, and the film shows it," Kiffin said. "The plays he makes, all the throws he's made here, the leadership qualities ... I've said this before: If Matt Barkley had the defense that Matt Leinart and Carson Palmer had, Matt Barkley would have won the Heisman Trophy just like they did. He would have had the winning records they had."

Keep on talking Lane. Alienate a few more players on your roster. That'll make them respect you as a coach.

He basically just said that if his dad didn't suck, his QB may have won an award.
