Which WR position is he going to play? And does he have a legit shot at starting?

I guarantee he will start. he could play slot or take over JWill's spot. He is probably best suited to play slot but with Harper and Maehl already there I would guess he takes JWill's spot. I see our WR lineup like this
flanker:
Gaines
Jackson
Jordan
Slot:
Harper
Maehl
Pflu
Wide:
Holland
Embry
Wheaton?/Johnson

Krout, Cantu and Davis will probably be in the mix as well.

Where's Drew Davis? IMO He'll be a starter next year if he's healthy by spring time.

I think if we get Gaines and Davis comes back healthy our WR depth will be just fine. Lots of potential playmakers on that list.

Hopefully we can get a WR coach that can fully develop them.

I didn't put Davis because I've heard he won't be back at the beginning of the season. Hopefully he is and if he is then Harper, Gaines and DD would be our starters. With Maehl, Holland and most likely Diante as the main backups. Very solid, much better then this last year

Now if they can just secure the reception before turning to look at the camera...

No doubt with the addition of Gaines our receiver corp look great and he (Gaines ) will help with our transition from our departing SRs to the young guys. Gaines is a beast and fast...DAMN great get!!

I like your guarantee about Gaines. How one can make such a guarantee I do not know. What are the power ball numbers by chance?
Also, have you heard something about Davis that the rest of the fans following have not? Was his injury more serious than that of JJ and the countless others who were able to come back in less time? Please enlighten us, Nostradamus.

Remember how you apologized for being a dick on C4Q?
Perhaps he didn't mean guarantee literally, and maybe he forgot about Drew Davis. But thank God you made sure he felt like an idiot for making a mistake. Hopefully he'll learn and be perfect from now on, like you.

we have 15 WR on our roster before gaines commit (with gaines that make 16 wr). I wont be suprised if Coaches move Harper to RB roster if we dont land Brown, we could see Harper/james/crenshaw/alston roatation as number 2 behind Blount. I may be wrong, We will see what CK have up in his sleeve.

when did davis tear his acl again? i think he got surgery in november so we're looking at between 6-9 months probably before he's full speed. my guess is that he will be back around the time that fall camp starts and then it just depends on how long it takes for him to mentally adjust and not worry about making the cuts.

Ya, 16 WR seems a BIT excessive, or is it just me? If I was Diante Jackson, seeing that, why WOULD I want to come to Oregon. If I wanted to ever play, that was. But hey, Gaines is supposed to be the #8 JC recruit in the country according to Rivals, so the Ducks can't be happier. This isn't exactly a bad thing, just saying, 15 WR seems like a lot, I wouldn't be surprised to see some transfers. But who knows, Harper at RB would be the logical move if Brown goes to Miami. So if you think about it, if Harper recruits Brown to Oregon, he's recruiting himself out of a ton of potential PT.
