How on earth could this be a trap game?Bud Lee wrote:They are not use to losing... obviously the pressure to win is getting to them and they are becoming delusional.
With that said...careful on this one guys. I truly think you all will beat the Vols be 30+ points, but at the same time this could be a "trap" game.
Tenn has a lot of good talent, they have a new coach with a new offensive scheme, and a new QB at the helm...that could mean they are going to be an absolute dumpster fire this year...or it could mean that they are going to surprise a lot of teams early until there is enough tape on them.karlhungis wrote:How on earth could this be a trap game?Bud Lee wrote:They are not use to losing... obviously the pressure to win is getting to them and they are becoming delusional.

Meh Tennessee hasn't won on the road since 2010 against Vanderbilt.Bud Lee wrote:Tenn has a lot of good talent, they have a new coach with a new offensive scheme, and a new QB at the helm...that could mean they are going to be an absolute dumpster fire this year...or it could mean that they are going to surprise a lot of teams early until there is enough tape on them.karlhungis wrote:How on earth could this be a trap game?Bud Lee wrote:They are not use to losing... obviously the pressure to win is getting to them and they are becoming delusional.

They also play two teams at home that they should easily beat before heading out to Autzen, that gives them some time to gel a bit and gain some momentum. On the other hand, you all have to fly out to Virginia the week before.
This has all the making of a trap game, you should hand them an arse whooping, you will likely be the favorite by 21, but they may sneak up on y'all. I don't think they will but I have the same level of concern for your Ducks in this game that I have for LSU against TCU.
But this isn't the same Tenn team. Brand new coach with an offensive system that works. I expect the Ducks to stomp, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a team with the Vol's talent to make it a game or even scare the ducks.UOducksTK1 wrote:Meh Tennessee hasn't won on the road since 2010 against Vanderbilt.Bud Lee wrote:Tenn has a lot of good talent, they have a new coach with a new offensive scheme, and a new QB at the helm...that could mean they are going to be an absolute dumpster fire this year...or it could mean that they are going to surprise a lot of teams early until there is enough tape on them.karlhungis wrote:How on earth could this be a trap game?Bud Lee wrote:They are not use to losing... obviously the pressure to win is getting to them and they are becoming delusional.

TCU won @WV, @Baylor, @Texas, @SMU, and lost to won against Michigan State on a neutral field. Let's keep in mind Pachal wasn't QB for any of those games. They had a true freshman running the team. TCU has a good D, and they are well coached. If Pachall comes back, I think TCU wlil be a legit threat. If no Pachall, I still think they are going to have a good season a QB who has an entire freshman year under his belt. I Don't doubt LSU will win, but I think TCU will keep it within a score or two.
Tennessee on the other hand loses their best offensive player in Bray, no way they can keep up with us. Their defense is terrible. Only way this game is within two scores is if Oregon calls it off in the 4th quarter, and Tennessee gets some pity points.
Tennessee has WAY too much going against them by the time they enter Autzen.
You have a different definition for a trap game than I do. I have always thought that the general consensus was that a trap game is essentially a team that you would overlook for various reasons, and there is not a chance in hell that Oregon would overlook an SEC team with the name recognition of Tennessee coming to Autzen.Bud Lee wrote:Tenn has a lot of good talent, they have a new coach with a new offensive scheme, and a new QB at the helm...that could mean they are going to be an absolute dumpster fire this year...or it could mean that they are going to surprise a lot of teams early until there is enough tape on them.karlhungis wrote:How on earth could this be a trap game?Bud Lee wrote:They are not use to losing... obviously the pressure to win is getting to them and they are becoming delusional.

I don’t think we are differing in “definition”, I believe we are simply analyzing the situation differently. I think because of how the Vols performed last year, (i.e. finishing second to last in the SEC East with a losing record of 5-7) , the way y’all “butch slapped “ them in their house 41-14 in ’10, and the thought process of “it’s no way they can be good, all of their starters left” sets this up as a game that the players may overlook this game. Coupled that with the fact that this game is at Autzen and is sandwiched between a long away trip to Virginia and your conference opener, it has all the making of a trap game.karlhungis wrote:You have a different definition for a trap game than I do. See, there it is, fans and players are going to go into this thinking that, as my man TK1 here said, "Tennessee has WAY too much going against them" , thus setting it up to be a "we got this, who's next" vib.UOducksTK1 wrote:Meh Tennessee hasn't won on the road since 2010 against Vanderbilt.
