The West Coast class of 2011 will boast many fine athletes, but few in the northwest are getting the attention of Gig Harbor (WA) tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins. Ducks Sports Authority caught up with him after his recent trip to Eugene.

quotes of interest:
"I went with my mom and sister."
"I love Oregon... I am really pumped up, and plan on going there for more visits, and to go to a few games."
Very positive feedback IMO. It's really early, but you gotta love the what he's saying about the ducks so far.

This type of recruiting right here is what will seperate us into the elite ranks. Recruiting kids in the current cycle almost ends after summer is done anymore. You now have to start their junior year and earlier to generate the interest like USC/Florida/Texas does. There is a reason Texas has 20 commits by beginning of April, and it's the same reason CK spent so much time in FL last year with no commitments, yet we are in the top for about ten elite prospects down there this year.

Sounds like we might be getting a possible 5 star for our 2011 class. Really great news

Thanks for the quotes TK. It doesn't get much better than that this early in the game -- Visited with sister & mom and will be back for multiple visits/games.
