Wow, just wow. Are they allowed to blatantly out and out lie like that?

"In the eyes of the NCAA, the money was payment for delivering Seastrunk to Eugene."

BEFORE HE EVER carried the ball, Seastrunk announced that he planned to win a Heisman. At one point during his freshman year, he says, then-Oregon head coach Chip Kelly sat his redshirt down and said: "You're trying to win the Heisman. You need to try to figure out how to get on the field." Recounting the story, Seastrunk slides to the edge of his chair, leans forward and says, "That was a discouraging thing, you know?"

Love Chip Kelly

Tough love is really what's needed for football players thinking of individual awards before team goals. No player should be thinking of a Heisman before even stepping on the field with experienced starters ahead of them.

I know. Absolute BS on ESPN's part there.

Especially considering the 'sanctions' we received. You'd think that if it was that cut and dry, then we would have had something more than 1 schollie and some restricted recruiting. Shouldn't really surprise anyone though, ESPN is becoming more like TMZ every day. Case-in-point, stories about Manziel getting kicked out of a frat party at Texas or anything Tim Tebow.

About the only thing I visit on ESPN is Ted Miller's Pac-12 blog since everything else doesn't really matter to me.

Did I miss something where the football program threw Seastrunk under the bus? I don't remember that at all.

Seems the most mudslinging was done by Lache, and in this interview.

Add Tim Keown to the list of guys not to take seriously. His problem is that in order to create some kind of conflict, he uses Oregon as the evil, bad guy in this story so Lache can find his "redemption." This is why there isn't a single attempt by the writer to understand why a school would distance themselves from a recruit at the heart of a ncaa investigation. Gee, you think Coach Campbell could talk specifically about it due to the schools lawyers or would they tell him not to?

I want to believe it will be better but I know that it won't. Integrity =/= high ratings.
