Re: Gary Patterson rips Les Miles over reinstatement
I don't think Gary Patterson is one to talk for one, his team has had A LOT more problems than LSU has of late with the whole drug ring thing. Second for people who aren't close to this situation it appears a lot worst. Hill punched a guy in a bar that called him a n*gger. Did he do it by "sucker" pouching the frat boy...yes. Does he need to be punished...yes. Does he need to be kicked off the team...no.mrpd21 wrote:http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefootbal ... ent-080813

I think a lot of people are blowing this out of proportion because when he was in high school a girl a month or so shy of 15 gave a blow job to Hill and one of his friends in the school locker room before he came to LSU. As a result of that incident, Hill sat out a year before coming to LSU.

Re: Gary Patterson rips Les Miles over reinstatement
By the way, in that same speech Gary Patterson talked about his suspended player Devonte Fields. When asked about it he said that Devonte Fields is appealing his suspension and is claiming that it isn't his call to reinstate him. Which tells me that he didn't suspend the guy in the first place, that the suspension came above his head.
Also one year Gary choose not to suspend a key player before a big game.

Other than a big rivalry, I'm not one to think other coaches should be spouting off about other coaches. I used to be pretty high on Patterson but when one tends to bloviate too much, its hard to listen.

She was Freshman and just shy of 15 and he was 17...it sounds bad I know but when I was in high school many Jrs and Srs dated freshmen. If the father wasn't horrified over what his little girl did we would of never heard of it. People are trying to make him out to be a rapist over it and he is far from it. The fight was his first offence while at LSU.

Yeah similar to that, for those that don't know Wilson was convicted of aggravated child molestation in 2005, after, at the age of 17, he had engaged in oral sex with a 15-year-old. Luckily for Hill Louisiana Law is different and he just got charged with a misdemeanor. I felt so bad for Wilson when I read that article, mandatory 10 years for something like that is ridiculous.Duck07 wrote:Genarlow Wilson.
Here is the Louisiana Law
§80.1. Misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile
A. Misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile is committed when a person who is seventeen years of age or older has sexual intercourse, with consent, with a person who is thirteen years of age or older but less than seventeen years of age, when the victim is not the spouse of the offender, and when the difference between the age of the victim and age of the offender is greater than two years, but less than four years.
B. As used in this Section, "sexual intercourse" means anal, oral, or vaginal sexual intercourse.
C. Lack of knowledge of the juvenile's age shall not be a defense. Emission is not necessary, and penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete the crime.
D. Whoever commits the crime of misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars, or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.
E. The offender shall be eligible to have his conviction set aside and his prosecution dismissed in accordance with the appropriate provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
F. The offender shall not be subject to any of the provisions of law which are applicable to sex offenders, including but not limited to the provisions which require registration of the offender and notice to the neighbors of the offender.

The extent you go to in defending your team is both admirable and hilarious.Bud Lee wrote:Yeah similar to that, for those that don't know Wilson was convicted of aggravated child molestation in 2005, after, at the age of 17, he had engaged in oral sex with a 15-year-old. I do no more than other fans on message boards, I'm also a lawyer so I have a different insight when it comes to things like this.karlhungis wrote:The extent you go to in defending your team is both admirable and hilarious.
It helps that I sincerely think that they are doing the right thing here. Its not like the guy punched an opposing player after a game or anything like that. Its more like when LMJ got suspended for one game when he plead guilty to a misdemeanor back in '10.

A 17 yo with a 15 yo shouldn't be a legal matter in my opinion. That's a pretty normal thing to happen. Happened all the time at my high school too.

It's different in almost every state from what I gather. Thanks...most lawyers don't rank too high on my list either.duckfan96 wrote:I am no lawyer but isn't 14 statuatory rape(in some states?) even without someone pressing charges?
