It’s so weird to see guys leave early to not get drafted when they could’ve had a real impact in college for one more year, even with a new coaching staff. Just think players need to be a tad more patient.

It’s weird that Mario was able to recruit so well but overall it seems like Oregon hadn’t done very well in the draft outside of Herbert, Sewell, and KT. You’d think with the top recruiting classes Mario would’ve had more guys in the draft.
Seems like some of it has to do with the fact that a lot of players didn’t develop or even regressed under him and his staff. Wright looked like a first round pick his freshman year but got progressively worse the next two years. NFL teams are someways going to draft guys with potential over guys who looked like they peaked in college.

It's fun to blame Mario, but Wright running a 4.57 40 at the combine put him way down the list. I mean, there were a half-dozen DE's that ran faster than that. Same with Verone - 4.65 40 at the Oregon pro day. DB's with those times are not going to be high on draft lists. Maybe Mario should have recruited faster guys, but otherwise, not really his fault. They were fine in college, but the NFL is a much faster league.

Makes you wonder what Feld and the S&C staff were doing to help get the players faster. Wonder if we'll see a difference with new S&C staff now that they brought in someone who's specialty is speed training.

Another Oregon QB looking shockingly good once he’s out from under Mario’s thumb? Incredible.

Greg Roman and John Harbaugh don't get enough credit for building an offense for Lamar to thrive in based on his skill-set while also keeping the back-ups in the same mold to keep the offense running the same.

I happened to watch one his drives not knowing it was him and he had a real nice scramble run and a few good looking passes. He didnt look out of place against backups at all which is a good start for him.

Not too many coaches think of that when stocking their QB rooms.

Nice to see Ugo land someplace, since it was reported before the trade he would likely be cut. Not sure what the DB room looks like there, but hopefully he can get back to where he was a couple years ago.
