Haven't posted in a while but here is the most up to date info on Oregon in South Florida.

RB: There are several RBs in South Florida gaining attention from Oregon coaches; De'Andre Johnson Miami Pace 5'9 208lbs 4.4, Eduardo Clements Booker T Washington 5'10 190lb 4.4, Brandon Gainer Miami Central 5'11 180lbs 4.5, Giovanni Bernard St. Thomas 5'8 198lbs 4.4, James White St. Thomas 5'10 188lbs 4.4

All of these guys have been visited in school by Oregon coaches and all are big time prospects. In south florida there are about 25 D1 RBs and these are a few of the best on that list. The ones that seem the most interested are Giovanni Bernard and De'Andre Johnson. None of them have an official offer but look for a few of them to get one in the next few weeks. De'Andre Johnson also is trying to plan a trip to be at the Oregon Camp next month with 3 of his teammates (S/LB Issac Dixon, S/LB Isaiah Williams, QB Stephen Morris). Eduardo Clements has also expressed interest in using an Official Visit to see Oregon.

WR: Right now Ivan McCartney is the only WR in South Florida who has an offer. De;Jashua Johnson from Pahokee also as an offer as an ATH but plays WR on his team. The only other WR in the whole state with a real offer is Kadrone Boone of Tampa Catholic. Coach Neal visited Ivan last week and things look really good. He is camping at Oregon next month with fellow teammates WR Rashad Gholston and WR Donte Chambers.

QB: The only 3 guys Oregon is even going to evaluate as of now are Turner Baty of St. Thomas (6'2 2010 4.7), Jeffrey Godfrey of Miami central (5'10 180lb 4.6) and Stephen Morris of Miami Pace (6'2 190lb 4.7). None of them have an offer as of now and Oregon's QB coach has already been to see Godfrey while Coach Neal was able to see Morris and Baty, both looked very good in practice.

OL: As of right now there isn't too many OL that have been getting attention from Oregon in South Florida. OT Brandon Linder of St. Thomas and several OL from Miami Pace (Patrick Redding 6'8 325 & John Ragoo 6'6 320) are being evaluated over the next few weeks.

DL: David Perry from University School currently holds an offer from Oregon and Coach Neal went to see him last week. He has a teammate by the name of Max Beaulieu 6'4 240lb who has major interest in Oregon and is being evaluated over the next few weeks. Clarence Murphy 6'3 230lb DE/DT from Hollywood Hills also has caught the eye of Oregon recruiters.

DB: Here is where it gets really good. Issac Dixon from Miami Pace 6' 198lb 4.5 who currently holds an Oregon offer has said several times that Oregon is his favorite right now. I have spoke to hima nd his father several times recently and he has never mentioned Miami as being a leader and says they have barely been in contact and have yet to come by his school even though it is about 20 miles away. His teammate S Isaiah Williams 6'2 200lb 4.5 has caught the attention of DB coach Neal on film and at practice. He looks to be getting an offer at the end of spring. He is a great player with tremendous ability for his size. Big time hitter as well and has great ball skills. CB Tony Grimes finally got his official offer last week from Oregon and plans on tripping early next month with his coach. His recruitment has heated up over the past few weeks gaining offers from Oklahoma State, Maryland and Michigan. Coaches are still evaluating S/LB Gilbert St. Louis of Plantation High School and will be checking him out at practice this week. Gilbert made the trip up to Eugene for the spring game and had a great time. He hopes to get an offer but is still looking at South Carolina, UCLA and West Virginia. He currently has offers from Minnesota and UCONN. DB Dwelle Striggles 5'11 180lb 4.5 from University School has also gained interest from Oregon. He has just transferred in from Dillard HS and has been getting rave reviews in practice from UF, GTech and several others. DB Peniel Jean of Palm Beach Central was also visited at school by Coach Neal and he came away impressed. Jean has grown since last season and now is just a shy under 6' and looks about 185lbs and still growing. He was very impressive and is very close to an Oregon offer. S Rey Kirton 6'1 200lb 4.5 from St. Thomas also is on the radar but holds a 4.6 GPA and could end up Ivy League but Oregon still has some sort of shot with him.

From what I can see, you guys have a great shot at landing several prospects from down here. There are several unofficial trips planned by South Florida guys in June. WR Ivan McCartney, WR Donte Chambers, WR Rashad Gholston, RB De'Andre Johnson, DB Isaiah Williams, DB Issac Dixon, DB Peniel Jean, DB Tony Grimes, QB Stephen Morris (50/50) and QB Turner Baty (50/50) have all said they plan on tripping or camping next month. Also RB commit Ethan Grant has said he will camp as well. The guys I feel are the most interested and COULD end up in this class are:

CB Peniel Jean Palm Beach Central
RB Ethan Grant North Broward Prep
S/LB Issac Dixon Miami Pace
S/LB Isaiah WIlliams Miami Pace
CB Tony Grimes Hollywood Hills

Surprised we are not in better shape for a RB from down there besides Ethan. Bernard and Gainer have my vote, everything I have seen has De'Andre staying in the state of FL.
I continue to maintain Dixon will absolutely kill it at Rover for Oregon. He is the perfect size/frame for it.
What is the latest on David perry if you know? Any way we have a chance against UF for him?

Also thanks for all of that, one of the best posts in a while.

I know De'Andre Johnson and his mother very very well and he says if he gets an offer he will be Issac Dixon's roomate at Oregon. Try not to read too much into rivals and scout reports, they are usually very outdated and biased towards the school they write for. Yes, De'Andre is a huge hurricane fan, his father played for them and he wants to go there but that has nothing to do with UM actually offering him.

As far as Gainer goes I haven't heard the best reviews about him in practice, I will be going to see him tomorrow or thursday so I will let you know. Bernard is a possibility and he did show great interest when Coach Neal was here but that remains to be seen. He would be a huge get if that actually happened but he is taking his time and won't decide till late in the process so we will see what happens.

Awesome PD. That's good to know. I've read that Clements seems to be the Miami RB so if that happens maybe that opens up DeAndre for us assuming we offer.

In my opinion I don't see Clements ending up at Miami. Miami will probably land an out of state guy and a guy from farther up the coast. If anything Eduardo Clements ends up at FSU, his long time favorite.

Also I forgot to mention there is a 2011 RB who has major interest in Oregon. His name is Jerron Seymour from Hialeah HS in Miami. He is probably THE best RB in the class of 2011 in South Florida maybe the whole state. Coach Neal went and saw him at school and things went great. I grew up with his brother as well and if the Ducks wanted this kid they could get him. He is a Barry Sanders type RB, he grew up with Ethan and played optimist ball with EThan but was always the better of the two. Should be an interesting story for the next 2 years and we could see him as the first commit for 2011 around the same time next year that Ethan did it this year IF you guys offer him.

As for Ted Meline, who knows. His recruitment is a circus right now and not sure if the coaches are still recruiting him at this point. He has too many people "running" his recruitment. Plus he is commiting at the end of this month and the only school he has even visited is UGA. But I did get a call from his mentor today asking if Oregon was going to go see him and that he still has interest but I don't know how serious he is about it.

First of all, epic post primedime... well done sir! We just got THE best South Florida recruitment information all in that one post.

If Seymour is as good as you say he is and his interest is as high in Oregon as you say, there is no reason to believe that he won't get that offer. Unless of course there are grade/character issues, etc etc.

I love seeing that Florida is becoming our new California for recruits.

Thanks primedime for the info.

Just curious, is Oregon recruiting Stephen Morris as a QB? And do you think an offer could be coming soon?

primedime, thanks for that great post....what a wealth of information. That would be sweet if the Ducks could somehow land Bernard, although it still sounds like a bit of a long shot. I really like him, plus it would be sweet to stick it to the Beavers.

Yep, those would be goosebumps crawling up my spine. I sure hope we land that guy!
