From Greg Biggins:
Watson hoping for more offers
Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., should have another strong team after finishing 13-0-1 a year ago and winning the CIF Central Division Championship. One player to watch is athlete Greg Watson, a talented quarterback whose lone offer was as a defensive back.
Watson is a dual-threat quarterback and earned first team, all-state underclass honors from CalHiSports.com a year ago. The signal caller threw for 2,506 yards and 18 touchdowns and rushed for another 859 yards and 11 more scores.
He'll be a three-year starter next year and will take part in the Elite 11 regional camp at Cal this Friday.
"I'm looking forward to working out," Watson said. "I'm also going to the Nike camp at Oregon and that will give me a chance to check out the school as well do the camp. Right now, a lot of schools are recruiting me as an athlete and feel I can play quarterback or another position.
"Oregon has offered me as a defensive back and it sounds like a few other schools could be close to offering as well. UTEP, Nebraska, Utah and Arizona State have all said an offer could be coming soon, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this all plays out."
