Per DT, Oregon has become the leader for Louisiana 4* QB Munchie Legaux.

Ok, so there really isn't much to cheer about... Yet!
Hey Munchie... ? LeGaux to Oregon... You'll love it!
It's pretty bad when we follow this stuff as close as some of us do.

I don't want to get too excited, but this is some kind of nice.

I know what you mean.
Munchie looks as if he could be a bigger, buffer version of Dennis Dixon.

Very good news. Munchie is meant to play for the Ducks, haha.

I don't know who else is interested and who else might offer, but the good news is that Michigan and West Virginia already have some top qb's that commited in 2009 or 2010. Please don't go to Tennessee!!!! If Munchie is willing to come west, I like the ducks chances.

I really like Munchie throwing the ball. But after watching his highlight tape on youtube I worry a little about his running ability. Throwing the ball, he looks a lot like Dennis. Running the ball he looks more like Cody Kempt. Its such a fine line to recruit a mobile quarterback that can throw the football and run just as easily.I think I have been spoiled by getting to watch Dennis Dixon run the zone read to perfection along with Masoli towards the end of last season.

Just watched the video for the first time and am very impressed.
I actually thought that he did run a lot like Dixon. He wasn't much of a juker. Just made good reads and decisions on when to run and picked up his 5-10 yards each time.

Maybe I'm naive but we HAVE to land someone because most of these dual threat guys are looking at similar teams and they are starting to pick up commits. I'll also get confused if one of them goes to Tennessee after Kiffin told Boyd last year that he was a fit for the offense.

Will be tough to get him past Ole Miss or Tenn. We'll see, depends on what happens with Scroggins/Broadway/Godfrey.

I concur. I love it! And hopefully, he'll choose Oregon. I haven't seen his video, but any 4* QB would be HIGHLY welcome right now.

It seems that every recruit I/we read about has Tenn in their top 5 list... WTF?!? I know they play in the SEC, have the tradition, etc... are all these kids totally unaware of the scum factor of Lame Kitten? Whats in the water down there? What's he telling these kids?
I just seems fishy to me...

Here's the ESPN assessment from the DT article. It certainly fits Oregon's style:
"Legaux is an exciting dual-threat quarterback and athlete. He has redeeming, deceptive skills as a passer and is a good enough overall athlete to move to wide receiver if he does not work out under center. He has good height and a lanky, lean frame to grow into. Settles his feet quickly and shows good poise in the pocket. Mechanics need some refinement, but he possesses a quick release, although low, with good wrist snap. Has a whip-like, sidearm delivery that negates his height, but the ball comes out with some pop on underneath and intermediate throws. Shows good zip on shorter throws. Has flashed the ability when his feet are set to make some very difficult throws on the deep comeback, skinny post and downfield vertical routes. Overall accuracy is entirely dependent on his footwork. He will spray the ball around a bit if he is unsettled. Can buy extra time with his feet and ability to feel the pressure, step up and avoid the rush. Shows impressive initial quickness to escape the rush and possesses lanky wiggle in his change-of-direction skills when on the move. Can cut and make people miss and shows good top end speed for the position. Throws the football very well on the run to both sides and has shown the ability to throw off balance when he has to. Legaux is the perfect fit for the shotgun, spread offense where he can use his athleticism both as a passer and runner to be at his best. Overall, Legaux is green as a passer, but shows upside to develop nicely in the right scheme. Good prospect."

IIRC, Kiffin actually told Boyd he had no future as a Tennessee QB... Yet he is actively pursuing Boyd-like QBs at this time.
Does this mean that "If Oregon offers them , they must be good", in Kiffin's recruiting assessments?
