94 Small Forward

94 Top 5 Small Forward Prospects:

Donnyll Marshall C+ C+ C- A C A

With Jawan Howard getting kicked out, the UConn Husky walked away with Defensive player of the year. The stretch four played a lot of power forward in college, but really his best position at the next level was always going to be at the three. He he has very good postioning on the defensive side but the best part of his game is he simply overpowers his opponent when he moves to the smaller forwards and guards. He is a solid, not exceptional finisher, but compliments this with a very good outside look. The word cornerman seems like it was invented to describe Marshall's game. He has struggled to keep his temper from time to time, which has led to some questioning his maturity, but if he can get this under control he should turn out great.

Glenn Robinson B- B- D+ C C+ B

This kid is a dangerous weapon on offense. He has one of the best first steps in the country with a very good pullup to compliment. He kept even Marshall guessing at the combine. Despite this, he acts like he is not comfortable with his body yet, as he shot up six inches these past four years. He seems to fall over himself when he tries to start his drive. This really hurt him in scouts eyes and wonder if it could take him some time to get used to his taller frame. If he can ever figure it out he should make out as a starter somewhere.

Ray Jackson B- C- C B- C+ B

After Webber, the most guilty of the 5. To say he was neck deep in the proceedings would be an understatement. He is very good around the rim, but where he really shone was his role as the defensive stopper of the V. He was asked to take the hardest match ups and acquitted himself well nearly every time. Even when he couldn't stop his match up, he slowed him down and forces a number of steals, making up for any scoring his opponent pulled off. Solid, but not exceptional, potential.

Monty Williams C+ C C- B- C A

With a class full of defensive grinders, Monty rates right up there. The Notre Lame graduate played the role of professional pest en-route to the Irish's Tournament berth and subsequent bad beat to a team that got there on merit not name. He rarely gets beat to the hoop and his defensive footwork is very advanced for his age. Scouts love his mind for the game.

Eric Piatkowski C+ B C- C C A

Eric was the main scoring option on a bad Nebraska squad. While his team did not perform well for long stretches of the season, the one bright spot was always Eric. He is a classic swingman build and can spot up from anywhere on the court. If you pressed scouts to the fire they would say Person's was a hair better shooter, but you would have to press them very hard to get even that. Very good upside, but his zealous dedication to his offensive tools may limit him to a high-level 6th man duty.
