Duck Territory first told you about Booker Wells a couple weeks back after his MVP performance at the Eugene Nike Camp. Since then Booker has been extremely busy with camps at both Oregon and Oregon State. Booker got in touch with us today as he got a chance to settle back in and get some rest after hitting 3 camps over a week and a half period.

“Yes sir. I feel like I had a lot to prove. The coaches at Oregon and Oregon State told me they heard lots of good things about me from the Oregon Nike Camp and wanted to see more of me in person,” said Wells when asked if he felt he did well.

We discussed where things stood with both schools after the camps. Booker said he didn’t receive an offer from either school but said he received a lot of good feedback from both staffs. At the Oregon camp the coaches said they wanted to see what he could do in pads after impressing in one on one’s and some agility drills. He said he responded very well.

“Yeah, they had a bunch of guys from California and Texas out there on one team. They seem to be the guys who they are recruiting right now. I had to go up against them and rep for Oregon. They were out there yapping about how Oregon boys can’t hang and all this and that. They weren’t talking after too long.” He continued by saying, “I did my thing and I feel the coaches took notice. They told me to keep doing my thing and that they want to see more of me in a full game once the season starts. Once they see that they said we will talk more.”

Wells also mentioned that the Oregon State coaches liked him a lot too. “Yeah, I went there with some teammates and we did pretty well. I did real well at receiver and then when we played their renegade team, they put me at corner. Their defensive coaches said they really liked me on the defensive side because they like bigger corners.”

He discussed what he thought of both schools after spending some more time on each campus. “I really like them both to be honest. I would say that right now I like Oregon a little bit more, but at the same time, I think Oregon State coaches like me a little bit more. They may the closer of the two to offering.”

Wells isn’t done as he said he plans on attending a camp at Portland State and hopes to attend Washington’s camp next week. “I may make it to UW but that camp is on my birthday so I don’t know if that will happen. “ Either way, we will keep you up to date on the progress of Booker Wells. He seems to be making progress and may be closing in on an offer from one of the in state schools if other offers don’t pan out or if he really impresses once his senior season starts.

Duck Territory will likely be the first to let you know if he does get an offer from the Oregon coaches. “Book” is definitely one to watch out for as he is starting to make a splash now that he is getting in front of some coaches.
