JHOP broke the news first now the other guys are reporting it! Good job JHOP! :D

Lattimore indicated that the schools he's still considering includes Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, Penn State, and Maryland.

He is also entertaining the possibility of taking a visit to a ninth school---Oregon---if the Ducks offer him a scholarship in the near future. Oregon is one of two potential official visit destinations that Lattimore currently has in mind.

"I've recently been interested in Oregon---I think an offer is coming from Oregon---so if I do get that offer, that would have to be an official visit, because I can't drive there. It's too much money. But them (Oregon) and Penn State I know (will likely get officials)," he said.

One thing he also said is he plans on committing the day before signing day........ which we all know the longer it takes hasn't bode well for the Ducks the last two seasons.

this kids talent= 10

he was in chat on DT the other night under my user name with initials ML next to it.
place was in utter disbelief. and it was him, he was texting me during chat.

yeah, i won't be holding my breath for this guy.

right now, if you're a big time recruit it seems like its en vogue to have oregon on your list.

unfortunately, it doesn't seem to translate to actually committing to oregon.

but i suppose actually getting on that list and in the conversation is the first step. so i'm not exactly complaining.

First Oregon has to offer, then he has to visit and then Oregon would have to beat out several schools in the south. It's cool that he was in chat and showing interest, but we miss out on 99.9 percent of these guys. I guess there is always that . 1 chance though.

First things first...... Oregon needs to offer. No matter how interested he is in the Ducks if they never offer it doesn't matter. Maybe the Duck coaches are scared of another Pryor/Brown fiasco and being let down again. Probably not, I am sure after this week he will receive an offer and will probably visit and will probably have Oregon as his number one all the way to the wire and end up being persuaded by Kiffin or another coach to go elsewhere. That's just the way it is for the Ducks, but we can hope right!

Worst case scenario... String Oregon along til the day before signing day, then go with USC, tOSU, Tennessee, or worst od all, Notre Damn!

Could the coaches be holding off on an offer because they don't want to scare off other RB's that they think they have a better chance with? I am curious what would happen with Grant if we offered Lattimore.

Very little, Grant is a completely different type of back and they would actually complement each other! Besides if a recruit gets scared off do we really want that guy on our team?

Man the is excellent news!

GO DUCKS!!

I think there are lots of practical reasons why Oregon is the best choice for Lattimore, amongst his list. He's facing over-loaded competition at the position at most of his options and we have the best running productivity over the last few years. Could end up boiling down to whether or not he feels comfortable with the campus and town.

Gary Campbell has done a damn good job with RBs for us, from recruiting to coaching.

These exact words were said with Bryuce Brown last year on why he should come here. Johop or whoever can try and boost everyone's hopes, but realistically, we have no chance and should concentrate on the many other RB's that we have a legit shot at.

He would start right away at Oregon...... no question, with Blount and Crenshaw gone after this year. Alston who is as of right now unproven going to be a Senior and James as the only two RB's, who are also different types of backs. If the Ducks get Lattimore and Grant and maybe a 3rd back, they may all get playing time.

Why not try Jenk? What does it hurt do you honestly think that we are only going to concentrate on recruiting him at RB. I mean if we were to land him he would fit in excellent in our system! If he decides to go elsewhere wish him good luck and thank you for the media.
