Andre Miller
B C C+ C+ C- A
An unusual 1 guard to be sure. Miller has a unique two hand shot that usually gets corrected in grade school. However it seems to work for him and goes in way more than it looks like it should. While he doesn't have the range for the 3 ball due to his flat release, the shot works quite well from the free-throw line extended. This greatest weapon is his low-post bag of tricks. He plays like someone twice his size and has a very tricky set of moves. Great defender and good passer, he never showed many issues with turnovers at Utah. Excellent work ethic should serve him well at the next level.
Steve Francis B- B B+ B C- C
The franchise is easily the most NBA ready player in this class. He can do it all: He can shoot, score, pass the ball and end up with a fair number of steals as well. This guard out of Maryland can come in and day one start for most teams in the league. He knows that he is the answer and knows that you will be giving him the big bucks when his rookie contract is up. He practices what he preaches but many scouts question his resolve to get better. He will come in a be excellent, that part at least is not in doubt.
Baron Davis C+ C+ C+ C+ C- A
Outstanding combo guard out of California, the rest of pac-10 will be happy to see him go. He torched the league from both inside and out throughout his shot tenure in the bay area. He possesses outstanding first step and once he gets that one step on you there is no way you are catching up before that ball gets laid in for a score. Scouts love his prototypical size at 6'3" and his excellent wingspan leads to a surprising amount of takeaways.
Milt Palacio C C+ C+ C D+ B
Very polished midrange man out of Colorado State. He leaves The Springs as one of the Rams' record scorers. Easily the fastest player in the draft, he seems immune to screens. Even the best inside players seemed to have trouble dealing with Palacio relentless manning up on defense. His main issue is he is poor on the closeout and while he is good with staying with his man on the drive he doesn't get into his airspace enough to do much to impact the shot. Good, not great passer, he has dealt with his fair share of turnovers in the past.
Teó Papaloukás C- B C+ B- C- A
Teó is one of the few Greeks that have made the trek over to the NBA but he should find a home here for a long time. Having played for a couple of different lower division sides before finding a home on the FIBA-level Olympiakos, he was one of the best defenders in his country. Besides his outstanding defense, he is one of the best overall shooters at the entire combine with in the Gym range. Very good potential with great handling ability, he may spend too much time outside and not b taking advantage of half of his offense (either by choice or ability is unknown).
