When does it happen

I am curious when it will start being made public that some of these guys will commit to us that have been ummm rumored to have committed to us. I do not mean to question anyone in particular but we have heard some that are going to commit and still nothing by any of the recruiting services. I hope I do not offend anyone by asking.

I believe there are several players that fit what you are inquiring about:
1. Gaines: from everything I've read, I'm not buying that he's a silent to Oregon. I'm sure Mops has some info that is credible, but others with more experience are saying he had a great trip, we are likely in the lead, but he is NOT committed. Furthermore, my bet is Sam Bradford staying at OU and them needing WRs more now due to a defection or 2, he could end up there. In the end I DON'T think he's coming here.
2. Diante Jackson: this is one I'm in Mops' camp. I think he will be a Duck. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of the situation, we're likely going to have to wait until signing day to really get confirmation.
3. Tajh Boyd: credible sources say we've been his leader for a while now. Hopefully we survive the Clemson trip and he finally ends this with a firm declaration next week. That could certainly happen, but be prepared for this to drag out for a while as he tends to love each school he visits.
4. James Johnson: I think our coaches may not be as high on JJ as they were earlier. This kid had us as his fave going way back to summer. He had plenty of time to trip here and pull the trigger, but he waited until last weekend. He liked his Utah trip and suddenly he's going to UW when they weren't in the conversation at all. Don't be surprised if he commits to the Dawgs shortly after his trip. They can sell much earlier p.t. and my bet is they show him more luv than we did
5. Harris: this is far from your typical recruitment. Is he committed to the Ducks? Well yes & no. Wait until 2/4 and hope he signs. In the meantime just hope no other schools enter the picture, which is doubtful.
6. Wheaton: no clues. there's been no info even about his Ucla trip. I get the feeling he's one confused kid right now as most insiders say he was ready to commit to us several wks ago. Once the Pflugrad info came out the waters have been very muddy.
7. Brian Jackson: I'm not convinced he has a "unconditional" offer. Just leave it at that. He's tripping Central Florida this weekend. Will be interesting to see what he says afterwards. Not losing any sleep over this one.
8. Cameron Marshall: I think his offer has NO strings attached. Very hard to say if we're his leader, but there's no question we're right up there. My bet is he probably waits until signing day or waits until Brown makes it extremely clear where he's going. We need a RB in this class.

The 2 big fish, Boyd and Brown, both say we lead. Brown today and Boyd just the other day. We look good for them right now.

From a bruin, I hear Wheaton is going to Oregon. He had fun on his trip, but I've heard there was little interest in us.

Thanks Bruin. Was starting to wonder if Wheaton had wandered into area 51 or something.

Thanks for the info bruin. Nice to see other Pac 10 perspectives as long as they're not flamers.

Please be wrong on Gaines. I thought OU lost one wide receiver? Anyway, that would be hard to pass up.

I sure hope I'm wrong. Unlike James Johnson I don't have as much to base that prediction on, so I could easily be wrong and I hope I am. Just puzzling why this kid has gone into hiding. Neither JC service or major guys have had anything on him since his trip to Oregon. It could be he wants it that way because he might have committed to us. That could be a big reason why he isn't responding to any inquiries. Hope so.
