Since the day is pretty slow, what recruit do you wish we could sign that is still on the board excluding Bryce Brown. (I am not including him because everyone would pretty much say we want him).

Mine would have to be Tahj Boyd.



Boyd brings a calm and collective sense to the field and a guy that has a cannon of an arm while also being able to scramble when needed. However, the biggest thing for me is that Boyd has been said to a very smart and hard working QB on and off the field. He would be perfect with Chip Kelly as he could really do wonders with our offense with the talent we are collecting. Then selfishly we could finally win a big recuiting battle that we were not suppossed to win when it first started. Getting a chance to say sorry tOSU you didnt win this one would be sweet as honey.

I think Gaines, just because I think he'll help most fastest. I think he could definitely start the next couple of years, and could be a big time playmaker. And I think it's these next couple years where we make an NC run. So while Boyd may be more talented and do more for our team in the long run, he won't help us do something amazing like Gaines might (unless we go to a BCS game after Masoli leaves, but that's a long ways away). Plus, Boyd will have to beat D Thomas, something that might never happen. I think that Gaines is a sure bet to see a lot of PT while he's here.

I might've said Boyd if mops hadn't already though. I wanted to be original.

I will be original and say Cliff Harris.

I would say Boyd as well. His commitment I think will do a number of things that would be positive for the Ducks. First off his high profile, media grabing attention will help the Ducks in the future to get commitments from other highly rated recruits. Second, I think he will compete with Thomas and Masoli which will help in making them better, and of course his talent and athletic ability that is perfect for Kelly's offense will help the Ducks compete for a NC! Plus he sounds like a really positive kid that will make a great team leader!

With Byrd taking off I too say Cliff Harris. He seems to be oustanding in man coverage.

This is an easy choice. Rolando Jefferson. He would come in and be an instant impact type of player at a position of need.

Cliff Harris. He is going to be a lockdown corner, and a possible 3 year starter IMO. Rivals has him ranked 41 in the country. I think he's the biggest defensive recruit since Haloti Ngata, which is what, maybe 5 or 6 recruiting classes ago? Just because of that, he is the recruit I want to see as a Duck the most. Though Bryce Brown would obviously make the biggest immediate impact, and continue the Kansas connection/pipeline the Ducks are slowly building. Let's just hope he keeps an open mind and realizes Oregon, not Miami, would allow him more playing time, in a much better system, and a team that just had a 1st round RB come out. He will be the next Stewart for the Ducks if he comes, 1st round pick after he comes out as a Jr.

The problem with him is even if he committed to us, he probably won't be able to get in. I'd much rather get a commitment from someone who we know can be a duck in 2009, not a CC player

I thought this would be easy.
Then I read all these posts.
And everyone gave pretty good reasons for there choices.
And things got difficult.

I want them all damn it!

But after BB, I'll take Boyd.

Even though it's unlikely we get him, I will add Sam Montgomery to the list. Talk about a sack machine!!!!

Cliff Harris, bottom line. Having a lockdown corner would do wonders for our defense.
