José Calderón C C+ C+ C D B
Calderón comes from the ACB squad Baloncesto Fuenlabrada out of Madrid. He is one of the more dynamic players in Iberia right now and seems to want to give the NBA a go. He has excellent range and a solid stroke from the free throw line. He isn't a master with the ball but he is not careless at the same time. His greatest strength is...well... his strength. For a guard, he is enormously powerful and can back down most every player he will match up against. He is stronger than anyone faster, and faster than anyone stronger.
Kirk Hinrich C+ C+C+ C D+ A
This guard out of perennial Big 12 power Kansas was a consensus all american this season for the Wildcats. While he would probably not be called the most explosive player from the college ranks, what he does is a very careful approach that least to very few turnovers. He has a very good three point shot but it does tend to look a little flat. Solid, but not exceptional potential, Kirk should be around for a long time.
Maurice Williams C+ C+ C C+ C- B
Decent midrange shooter and above average outside defender. Decently strong for a point guard but can be quite turnover prone at times. Not a great passer and below average pace. Decent potential, probably a 6th man.
Leandro Barbosa C+ C+ C- C D- B
Combo guard out of Brasil Excellent outside shot and not an overly big turnover risk. Excellent quickness but a very poor defender.
Steve Blake C C+ C+ C+ D+ A
Very good outside shot and probably the best overall passer in this class. He really sits back on the 3pt line a little too much and doesn't work it inside, even his midrange is only average and layup package is not very good at all. Good, not great defender and low A potential.
