just another espn reporter talking about how were always too high ranked and not going to live up to the expectation. first is story about usc qb situation and how corp has limited time to return to practice to stay starter, then talks about oregon and cal being overrated.

He also says Notre Dame is under-rated... Sort of insinuates they are much better than advertised.

Must be the Holtzthpbpb in waiting!

Or maybe a shill for this guy:

If I'm not mistaken, Oregon has finished the season higher than they were ranked at the beginning more often than not over the last several seasons. Unless I'm wrong about that, how does it make sense to say that Oregon is always over-rated?

and "questions at the linebacker position"? What?

I think you're right. I believe I saw an article that actually had us at or near the top of beating pre-season rankings.

They ought to promote/fire these guys based upon how well or poorly their pre-season commentary matches the final standings; provided, of course, that they don't get to vote in the polls.

Oregon was one of the top 5 "Under-rated teams of the Decade", according to the posting... #2, in fact, at least according to this set of statistics:

Notre Dame and UW were the bottom 2...

The amazing part is that both he and Holtz today made the point that N.D. is underrated because they have a cupcake schedule, not because the team is actually good. I think Holtz' quote was something like they don't have to be the best team all the time, only the best team on the field. That right there folks is the problem with this voting system.

It is a sad world where we are stuck with the likes of Lou Holthz for eternity and guys like Keith Jackson retire in their prime.
