This is wonderful news for the program....Great news for 2010 and beyond. I hope we redshirt and let him get stronger and a solid foundation in his classes.

Now he needs to avoid any transgressions for a year! :D
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

With the late arrivl, Cliff could end up being this season's LMJ on the Scout team...

It's about time. The NCAA needs to work on getting people approved faster so they don't miss as much time as Harris has.

I agree. This pretty much ensures a redshirt season now right? He has missed a lot of valuable time.

It's our university's policy NOT to allow the athlete to practice until cleared. Other schools appear to do it differently such as ASU was letting Burfict practice even though he wasn't cleared until about 5-7 days ago. In his case they must have been very sure he was going to make it.

I believe this is the best route because once the player starts practice he's basically on the university's dole. If it turns out that he's eventually ruled ineligble then you can end up with what happened with Jerome (Puddleducks) Johnson. He practiced for a good chunk of time, then issues arose that ruled him ineligible. The result was JJ could never play for a Pac-10 school after that because he had rec'd financial benefits that he wasn't supposed to get.

No UO doesn't do that any more, (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong) but I'm pretty sure that if a player does practice, but doesn't get cleared he can never come back to that school. Ala Jerome Johnson. Ah you just beat me to it :D

Such a relief. Never good to lose the top rated recrut from a class. He could redshirt this year then have a chance next yr to be a starter.
