1. Klay Thompson C B+ C B- C- A
Son of former number one pick, Mychal Thompson. Klay has a chance to follow in his dad's footsteps to be the number one pick. In high school, Thompson set a state finals record with seven 3-pointers in a game. In college during the 2011 Pac-10 tournament, he set tournament records with 8 three pointers. Sounds like a future 3 point contest champion to me. Great offensively. Not the most strongest or quickest player on the court. Average athleticism. Overall Klay could become a great player in this league considering the need for shooting guards. Amazing potential
2. Jimmy Butler B- B- C- C D B
More of an unknown to most in the basketball world. Scouts that have paid close attention to him feel he is the best prospect in the draft. All around scorer. Turnover prone but scouts feel he can overcome those issues. Butler did not get any Division 1 offers in high school and played a year in junior college. Butler eventually got a scholarship offer to Marquette where he became a fan favorite. Not a guy who can rack up the stat cheat defensively but he is a pretty tough defender. Good potential
3. Alec Burks C C+ C C+ C- B
Known for his scoring abilities. At Colorado, he was named 2010 Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Year and 2011 All Big 12 first team. Scouts feel he has the tools to become a solid starter in this league. Decent potential.
4. Iman Shumpert C+ C- C+ C C- A
In the 2010–11 season, Shumpert led his team in scoring (17.3 ppg), rebounding and assists, becoming only the seventh player in ACC history to do so. Pretty good mid range jumper. Will need to improve his long range. Overall has the ability to become a great player but knee issues could halt that from happening. Solid potential.
5. MarShon Brooks C+ C+ C D+ D C
As a senior in 2010–11, Brooks averaged 24.6 points per game, first in the Big East. Brooks has the killer instincts when it comes to scoring. Scouts feel he doesn't have the potential to grow into a great player. Fans believe him to be the next Kobe Bryant. With all the hype surrounding Brooks, he may be a player teams want to stay away from.
