He throws a pretty and catchable deep ball with really good touch IMO. Accurate out of the pocket (there's an over the shoulder fade in the hudl video that's really nice)
He needs to learn to slide

He throws a nice, catchable ball and seems to read the field well. I really like his scramble ability, he reminds me a bit of Mariota in that area. He scrambles under control, not appearing to be in a panic. Scout has his 40 time at 4.75.... fast enough??? And yes, he needs to learn to slide, he isn't playing with the kids in high school anymore.
The QB competition should be interesting, I think he'll have to really impress not to redshirt. I don't think I'm being a local homer, but I was very impressed with Herbert...... but he needs to improve in areas also.

I was pleasantly surprised by Burmeister's arm. A lot of people say he's inaccurate, but I saw some throws that impressed me. This kid can sling it.

I agree. His form might not be the prettiest but he threw for over 4K yards this year. He kinda reminds me of Johnny Football, without the off field issues, hopefully.

Film looks good. I like what he can do outside the pocket. According to this his coach trusted him to completely run the offense and call audibles. Sounds like a natural leader and it seems we need that right now.

I like his throwing despite what I heard.
He looks to run first like manziel. Very talented player and he could become a star.
He'll RS for certain.

You can tell in watching his junior and senior tape Akili has been drilling him hard on staying on top of the ball. It's helped him get his arm slot up (not much but it's better). He's a + athlete and appears to have good athleticism. I'll be interested to see how instinctive he is moving in the pocket or if he's going to be a Vernon Adams who looks to escape at the first available moment.

Looks like a good qb. Nice arm. My question is will he be ok as a backup for 2-3 years.? Don't see Herbert losing that spot. Kid is just gonna get better.

How does he compare as a prospect vs other guys we brought in recently, eg Hobbs, Wilson, Jonsen, Rodriguez?

Hobbs was a filler offer, why do people even bring his name up?

Watching his film he reminds me a lot of Jeremiah Masoli.

Looks like a good athlete. His vision and reads needs improvement. Several deep seem routes broke open and he was locked in on the short "pre-determined" receiver. But, that is pretty typical coming out of HS.
