ESPN Notes on him

Size-Strength-Speed

Longer framed back with a narrow base and the room to physically develop. Quicker than fast runner and a short strider who climbs the ladder to reach top speed. More sudden and quick than top-end fast.

Vision/Patience

Quick to see the cracks of daylight and pick and dart his way in and out of traffic. Great feeling for setting up defenders in the second level.

Agility/Acceleration

Violent jumper-cutter. Footwork, suddenness and lateral agility/movements are rare. Stop-start and ability to freeze defenders is at a premium level. Waterbug type that can dart in and out of seams. Can make a defender miss quickly in a hole and bounce outside without gearing down much. Lacks a second gear and the acceleration to outrun closing angles.

Power/Balance

Not a power back or push the pile type but breaks tackles with his quick twitched body movements and ability to avoid direct hits. Decent balance and flashes the ability to slip out of would-be tacklers.

Bottom Line

Carr has natural running talent and an elusive style that you simply can't coach. Has hands and polished receiving skills out of the backfield and could develop into a productive weapon in a spread offense.

Underclassman Eval

STRENGTHS: Nice size back with good balance. Explosive back who has the speed to take it the distance. Possesses good vision and the burst to bounce it outside. Strong runner who can push the pile and falls forward. Has some wiggle to make people miss in space. ...AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: Can be too aggressive seeking out contact and will need to add bulk to take the pounding at the next level. Needs to polish up blocking skills in pass pro. ...BOTTOM LINE: Carr is a strong, durable running back with the speed to be a playmaker at the next level. We also like his tough mentality as he plays linebacker on defense. Overall, we believe he has the size and skill set to be a featured back for a Power-5 team.

Kid reminds me of Zeke Elliott

Would be one hell of a flip.

I'll be cautiously optimistic about this one. I see him taking the USC commit out of his profile as something he wants to think about it so that is a good sign. The bad thing is he is going back to Southern California where he is going to be surrounded by fans and family that probably are steering him toward the Trojans. It's either going to be a DAT scenario or a JuJu scenario. Will see in a few weeks.

I think taking the usc commit out of his Twitter is a huge sign, and VERY encouraging for us. I'm pretty optimistic about him right now. But we'll see how things go in the next few weeks. There's a lot of time to Feb 1st.

Never forget juju.

100% duck until he wasn't.

I just wish we'd had recruiters like we have right now, for the entire cycle. I'd imagine our class would look a lot better.

This is true. Although I think he's a Ground Zero kid like Redd, Graham, Pickett, and Lenoir. They'll be in his ear.

I thought people were saying Lenoir was leaning toward USC now?

I can't remember if I saw it here or on Reddit.

This. I don't get my hopes up with recruits anymore. I don't even look at their highlight tapes until they commmit.

No one has said that. I think he's been playing games with people on twitter, trying to add suspense, but most realize he's a duck.
