Re: Meline to Tenn
Hopefully Grant doesn't intend to follow him to Tennessee. That would make me hate Kiffin even more.

Oregon and Tennessee seem to recruiting a lot of the same players and I don't see us beating out Tennessee for any of those players, primarily because of location but also because of Kiffens dirty tricks.

I wonder if the Blount incident changed things, because wasn't he favoring Oregon?

yeah, according to the pay sites. So was Williams, now he says the Ducks are even with other schools. McCain is saying the same now and so is Mathis.
Ducks took a beating in the media from Blount going ballestic. Blount cost the Duck program dearly in recruits this yr.
thanks Blount.

If these recruiting rumors are even true... don't you think that it should also be attributed to how the team played last Thursday?

Notice the plane that we flew on?

Kind of what I was thinking. I have a feeling that Oregon nearly getting skunked has a lot more to do with a recruits decision than Blount's TKO.

ugh, i was worried this game would screw us over with a few recruits, let's just hope we bounce back quickly and get these guys out for some visits still.

All the doom and gloom recruiting posts are funny, Oregon's recruiting is doing well. There was a sour taste for a couple days after the game just like with fans but that goes back to normal. Rarely does one game ever affect recruiting.

It seems that the suspension to Blount is what is hurting not the incident itself as far as what I have read recruits say, they believe it was too harsh.sx1080 wrote:duckgrad99 wrote:I wonder if the Blount incident changed things, because wasn't he favoring Oregon?

links please? i haven't read any recruits say this, only fans on message boards and blogs.gofightingducks wrote:It seems that the suspension to Blount is what is hurting not the incident itself as far as what I have read recruits say, they believe it was too harsh.
edit: I just saw your post on the McCartney thread, but that is a bad example because he specifically says that it WILL NOT effect his decision.

Re: Meline to Tenn
Meline to Tenn is a good thing for us. Rumored to have serious character issues and ultimately not one of Oregon's top targets.
As for the Blount deal, all that does is weed out the kids who aren't ready to be fully committed to Oregon. It's really not that bad. And the only reason Dontae is backing off is because USC is stringing him along and telling him not to say they are so it doesn't hurt their other top level recruits and keeps him as a backup. Kid has no support at home and doesn't know the game. Too bad.

We need to get Darron Thomas in Dontae's ear to get him to see Oregon is a good opportunity for him.jhopduck wrote:Meline to Tenn is a good thing for us. Rumored to have serious character issues and ultimately not one of Oregon's top targets.
