Keenan Allen update

It sounds like the poor performance against Boise State and the Blount incident hurt our chances with Allen. The Ducks were already facing an uphill battle with his family, but according to Rivals Blount's punch didn't go over well with his family. Alabama will probably get him because that is his family's preference but Clemson is now in the picture as well.

He still plans on visiting on Halloween for the game against USC.

Hopefully McCain and maybe Scales can convince him to make his own decision and either convince his parents or go against his parents wishes.

Pretty stupid if you asked me. One incident doesn't reflect the whole team, and it's not like other top teams haven't had issues with players.

While I wouldn't doubt that the game last week didn't help our chances, the article really doesn't have any new news on Allen. His parents, mainly his dad, want him closer to home, and that, in the end, will have a greater impact on Allen's decision than one game. Hopefully Allen will come West with his friends.

I think the incident just gave his parents (particularly his dad) ammunition to say "you don't want to go there, they are a bunch of thugs" you want to stay close to home and go to Alabama. Allen has been an Oregon lean for awhile but more often than not, ultimately the parents win out.

HAHA ... Alabama has had a TON of infractions and suspensions and vacated wins over the years. What a joke!

On June 11, 2009, Alabama was sanctioned regarding what many have called "Textbook gate" which stretches across 16 of 19 sports. They were forced to vacate 21 wins during the Mike Shula and Nick Saban coaching eras and were put on three years probation, ending in June 2012.[110] The university stated "none of the textbooks or materials was used for profit or to get items not related to academics, and that the athletes involved who still have eligibility remaining have had to pay restitution."[111]

Alabama has been a dirtier program than Oregon has, yet his parents feel Alabama is better. They are a more storied program and are a lot closer, but they still seem to be having problems under Saban. The Blount incident is the only bad incident that I can think of in the last 15 years of Oregon football. We need Scales and McCain to convince him to come with them.
