Big RB prospects...

Post by woundedknees »

Reading between the lines, it appears CMC is working to add a 2019 power back from Michigan. Listed as an athlete, but wants to play RB at the next level.

Funny thing is, this kid is being pursued by the Wolverines... https://247sports.com/player/quavaris-crouch-92997

I like his look, but he's a smaller back, like several already on the Duck roster.

Yeah, we need at least one bigger back. I know people love the smaller guys but give me a big bruiser all day long

If they did, they'd just fall out of them.

Jones will be around 205 by the time he's in college.

I’m not sure what everyone think of as a “bigger back” but I think Oregon should shoot for a Wisconsin-esque* back year over year; a 205-220 back that can do everything

Droughns was one of my all time favs.

Blount can demoralize a defense in the second half.

Yes. Jay Ajaii (sp?) from BSU and Philly’s main back.

Austin Jones is an every down type back. He's listed at 5'11" 190 now, it's very possible he'll be 200lbs+ before stepping on a college football field. Hopefully we can take another one from O'Dowd and Napoleon Kaufman.

Jaren Mangham would be a great addition and fits the bill of a bigger back, but his recruitment has already been drama filled and I never like our chances in those types of situations.

There are a lot of good 180-190lbs backs on the West Coast, but not a lot of bigger backs. A guy I really like is Jordan Wilmore. A 5'8" 200lbs from Cali who has one of the best Hudl's I've seen this year: https://www.hudl.com/profile/7787708/Jordan-Wilmore You watch the first minute and you'll see what I mean. At :25 in there's a safety blocking the end zone and he just destroys him. Unfortunately, USC is already all over him.

If you want the big 220+ guys you have to go to Texas and the Southeast. I find it baffling that we don't get a 5-star or high 4-star level RB every cycle, considering the success we've had at the position.
