In the rumor department, has anyone heard about Bryan Addison? I’ve heard that he may not get into UCLA and that he may end up in Eugene. Anybody else hear anything?

He started following a bunch of UO coaches and players. JHop is going to have something on him tonight.HomeSickDuck wrote:In the rumor department, has anyone heard about Bryan Addison? I’ve heard that he may not get into UCLA and that he may end up in Eugene. Anybody else hear anything?

If true, he'd help offset Hall likely not showing up.HomeSickDuck wrote:In the rumor department, has anyone heard about Bryan Addison? I’ve heard that he may not get into UCLA and that he may end up in Eugene. Anybody else hear anything?

I'd really like to see him in green.maxduck wrote:TualatinDuck wrote:Ok since it's now being mentioned on Facebook, what do we know about Addison?
Update Addison said he has already heard from several programs including ASU, Oregon, USC, Nebraska and Washington. He was already cleared by those those programs prior to signing with UCLA and will be immediately eligible at whatever school he chooses.
Of the above mentioned schools, the Ducks are the only program he has never visited.
“I want to try and get out to Oregon if I can before I make a decision here,” Addison said. “I don’t have a lot of time though, I have to make my decision and be ready to go by next week.

I read that earlier. Was wondering if there was anything additional since he seems to want to sign next week.FlDuckFan wrote:I'd really like to see him in green.maxduck wrote:TualatinDuck wrote:Ok since it's now being mentioned on Facebook, what do we know about Addison?

It's not more difficult, his sat got flagged by the admission dept, and that's why he didn't get in.alxtw wrote:From the article, it seems like his top priority is immediate playing time. I hope he recognizes the current WR situation at Oregon and that he could be catching throws from one of the best QBs for the next 1-2 years. If he trips up, we've got a chance.
I didn't know the admission for athletes into UCLA was more difficult than admittance into other schools in the PAC12. I thought only Stanford and Cal had those elevated admission standards. It does make sense since, as a HS student, it was much more difficult to be admitted into UCLA than USC (where almost anyone could get in if they/ their parents were willing to pay the full out of state tuition with no assistance from financial aid) or UW (imho generally not much better academically than UO, but gets higher rankings and the advantage of being located in big city, Seattle).
My understanding is the SAT now has an optional essay and that section was flagged. Apparently UCLA admissions requires the essay portion while most of the Pac-12 does not.buckmarkduck wrote:It's not more difficult, his sat got flagged by the admission dept, and that's why he didn't get in.alxtw wrote:From the article, it seems like his top priority is immediate playing time.
