I like his film. He's going to be a good player.

Smart, big, mobile. Perfect Center.

I went into looking at his film with a health dose of skepticism, because I wasn't super excited about Jacob Capra (Johnny, who plays at Utah, is probably he better Capra). But honestly, Joey looks like a good center prospect. Solid size, plus tenacity, plus mobility. Looks like he's going to be able to pull and lay some wood to some linebackers. Based on how big his brothers are, gaining bulk shouldn't be a problem.

In MC I trust when it comes to OL. He'll likely redshirt behind the JC transfer and have a year to bulk up.

I’m not in the same boat at this point. At Alabama, he got his pick of the litter nationally, and at Oregon no Cristobal recruit has hit the field yet. Not saying that’s a crime but just perspective that the jury’s still out.

Though nothing has been shown on the field as yet, what has shown up on "paper" (size, rankings and other colleges who have offered) is a serious step up from what we've seen in the past. Maybe that difference is b/c we recruited a smaller, more agile lineman, but Cristobal's impact on personal can still be measured by rankings and pedigree. Along with everyone else, I'm hoping the MC can coach the players at the same high level he can inspire them to join him.

3 of our 5 OL commits last year were top 250 recruits. And that was with doing damage control.
Aumavae-Laulu is a top OL in this class, and Bama wanted him. Sewell was also very wanted by Bama.
And Jonah Taunau'u is top notch.

Of course it's not bama level OL recruiting. But he has enough tools to have a top notch OL in the Pac-12.
