A friend who follows USC recruiting claims that MW is still in play for them. He is basing it on MW being open for additional trips. Anyone hearing the same?

Guys on USC boards have been saying for months that he is a back-up option for them and Oregon is just a place-holder. I've resigned myself to the idea that we will likely lose a few of these SoCal guys.

USC fans have been saying for a while that if they want Mykael Wright and Mase Funa then they will get them. With Funa they're waiting to see how his knee injury holds up. Hopefully we can hold on to both, they're the jewels of the class.

I never like our chances against USC, but hoping that this coaching staff is different.

Attrition is inevitable but that’s also a two way street. We’ll probably lose a few guys who are currently committed but we’ll also land a few guys who are currently committed elsewhere as classes fill up and guys are squeezed out. The key will be getting as many of these guys signed on the initial LOI day.

I mean.. USC currently has commitments from Chris Steele and 3* Trey Davis.

Are they trying to say Mykael Wright only gets an offer if Davis decides to renege?

Lol

I think the implication is if they miss on their higher-rated targets. I don't know. They said the same thing about Devon Williams, and then *poof* he was gone. I guess we'll see. I don't usually get attached to guys this early in the process anyway.

Fair enough.

It all depends on how we perform on the field this season. Do we improve, stay the same, or regress.
