California tight end Christian Thomas says he doesn’t have a timeframe for making a decision. He now denies a leader from amongst UCLA, USC, Oregon and Washington. “I haven’t really talked that over with my parents yet,” Thomas said. “I want to take my visits and make sure I love the campus. I want to go where I’ll be used in the offense and where I’ll get the ball. It’s still wide open..."

TE is going to be interesting for the ducks. David Paulson is a SO, but is right now the backup to senior Ed Dickson. Malachi Lewis is behind Paulson, and is a JR right now. Dion Jordan is a freshman, and has potential to be a stud. Add 2010 commit Curtis White, and the TE spot is looking pretty deep. If Curtis plays TE for us, I just don't see how we'd make room for Thomas. Not to mention Lyerla is really high on Oregon, and he plays TE/LB also.

But then again, UCLA and USC are pretty deep @ TE. And Washington has Kavario Middleton at TE for them.

Plus, we can always split our guys out or put them in the backfield.

I'd actually love to move Dion Jordan into the WR position. 6'7" is an awesome jump ball threat.

But I think we can manage. If we move Dion around and have Curtis White play DE, Thomas could definitely fit in and potentially even start as a sophomore.

Dion has been moved to the Tazer position for what it's worth. means a traditional TE spot is technically open.

The way Ed Dickson is used is the same way Dion will be used in the future. Dickson was one of the original 'tazers' also.

Like with the QB and RB positions, the ideal scenario would be to simply bring in one top-notch TE in every recruiting class.

Let's get him signed! It'd be nice to be like USC in the sense that they stock pile talent at every position. I know we have greater needs but it would be a pretty potent attack with him and White out there together in a couple years!

Chip has always put his best players on the field, so I don't see it as an issue!
