The Bark Rats are #47

79. Oregon
CONFERENCE: Pac-10
BEST PLAYER: G Tajuan Porter
QUICK TAKE: Wow, here's something new - coach Ernie Kent is on the hot seat and needs a good season.
BUZZ: By now, Kent is used to all the hot-seat talk, but he faces a critical season. A still-young roster needs to show improvement in 2009-10. The good news: After an eight-win season, it would be difficult for the Ducks not to take a step up. Eight of the top nine scorers return.

I think the ducks can surprise people this season, but maybe I'm being too optimistic. Hopefully the hiring of Dunlap will help.

I'm okay with Kent getting this year, but it has to be his last chance. If he doesn't come through, a change needs to happen.

Yeah no doubt. Whether you like Kent or not, the basketball program MUST have some hype & excitement sorrounding it heading into the new arena. Empty $250 Mill arenas are not OK. If can't get it done this year, we have no choice. A new coach has to be put in place.

Coaches poll is out. Cal and Washington ranked pretty high.

I don't get why Washington is so high. I mean they were good last year, but they lose Brockman and their lineup is pretty young. I don't see them being as good as advertised.

Cal on the other hand, is loaded and should compete for the Pac-10 title.

I don't think UCLA or Arizona will be nearly as good this season, so if they are picked 3rd and 4th, I think that shows how weak the conference looks going into the start of the season.
