Wouldn't be surprised if USC comes after Butterfield a bit.

I would also imagine USC would go after Butterfield, because he's good, but they might go after JD Shrout, too.

Young is amazing. Him and DJ are two incredible prospects who are gonna battle for heismans and national championships. Sad they're both going to the southeast.

With how many top CA kids are leaving the state again, it really shows how much both the SoCal schools have fallen and just how big a pull the big-time schools down South really have.

Chip needs this kid. He should have been camped out in front of Youngs house for the last 365 days. Chips lack of recruiting will be why he fails at UCLA. He was lucky Bellotti left him a talented roster in 09, which made it easier to win with and in turn recruit without max effort everyday.

Oregon really needs to go get Kobe Pepe. USC doesn't have a lot I'd want to poach, but he's one for sure.

Why?

If I were USC I'd seriously consider firing Helton no later than 8-9 games into the season (if he doesn't win out). They could select an interim coach to finish out the year and then the Urban Meyer rumors, as well as 2-3 other prominent coaching names, would start to fly.

There'd be some schools who may lose recruits late in the process if that happened, especially any who were already on the fence about USC or simply undecided. If that happened, I have no doubt that USC could still end up with a loaded class.

It might hurt us, too, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. Especially if they were to be able to actually hire Urban Meyer (or someone else prominent) before the end of the season so the new recruits would KNOW who the next coach will be.

One problem is USC doesn't have an athletic director since Swann "resigned". Tough to hire a high profile coach without an AD in place.

So they replace the #2 rated QB in California with the #3. 5* Jake Garcia committed to SC tonight.

Different classes but good pick up for them.

I think Young bought in to the idea of being the successor to Tua

It fits MC's comment about wanting a true NT to spell Fat Mac.

I was curious why the Ducks slow played him earlier in this cycle. He was very high on the Ducks and then they paused.

Sometimes I have a hard time reading into what Big Joe's priority list looks like, besides when it's very obvious (Ika being top priority last class). My interpretation is that the Ducks wanted Kobe but he wasn't as warm in return. He's a heck of a player, though. Well worth being a priority, IMO.
