#15 UW @ Stanford (Sat., 7:30 p.m., ESPN)

UW is a 16-point favorite on the road, and I see that all pickers so far on the Autzen page are picking UW. That spread seems a bit high to me. While I would love a Cardinal upset win, I see UW winning, but by more like 10. In fact, if I had to choose either a Stanford win or UW winning by 16 or more, I'd go with the former.

I predict a similar game to ours vs Stanford, probably like 28-13 Huskies. Let's hope for the upset though. All I care about this year is winning the north so an extra buffer on the Huskies helps a ton.

I looked at this one initially with the feeling that Stanford could rise up, play with fire and stomp the mutts. But then I thought back that Oregon State had to collapse for the Cardinal to escape Corvallis with the win. Every week I see Stanford leaking intensity and desire to compete. This game will be their crucible.

20 to 10 Furd and I'm starting to take this one seriously. What a great nightcap it'd be.

Huskies have been open deep several times tonight, this time they connect for a nice gain. Stanford has protected the red zone so far. They do it again, FG for uw, 20-13.

I would love nothing more than to be wrong about my pick. Husky loss anytime is a good loss.

Stanford up 10, 8:04 left in the 4th quarter.

Stanford has had the ball for 33 of the 52 minutes played so far, and they have a chance to wipe out a lot of the 6 remaining with a drive now.

With the Huskies about to lose, the Ducks will have a two game lead in the loss column over everyone in the North except... the Oregon State Beavers.

How great is that? This looked like Classic Stanford. They dominated both sides of the line, great play from the TE. This was not a case of plucky Stanford, they owned the Huskies in this one.

Well maybe Oregon’s offense doesn’t need to figure things out to win the Pac-12.

It feels odd to see both UW and WSU at the bottom of the North standings.

Hmmm, I don't know. They've had their recent success, but it seems like not very long ago they were both battling it out for worst team in the conference.

This is just fabulous. I actually read something recently that Cristobal, after rewatching his own team's recent victory over Stanford, was adamant that Stanford was a better team than people were giving them credit for. Looks like he was vindicated, though I can't imagine that even he anticipated this kind of dominant performance from the Cardinal vs UW.

So now UW has lost its only two games vs North Division teams this season -- against two teams that the Ducks have already beaten. That gives the Ducks a potentially huge advantage in any divisional tiebreak situations involving UW, even allowing a Duck loss at UW in two weeks (as horrifying as that possibility sounds) to not be fatal to the Ducks' chances of being the North representative in the CCG. (So it could hypothetically be the reverse of last year when the Ducks beat UW, but UW went on to be the Pac-12 representative in the Rose Bowl.)

Watching the end of this game was awesome. A ragtag group of Stanford backup o-linemen pushing the Purple Puppies all over the field. The Husky offense looking like it is being directed by a couple of buffoons. Doog fans calling for Coach Pete's head. I don't know how the rest of the season will unfold, but this is a week to enjoy.
