I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that the only job he would come back for would be for the Miami dolphins

I bet Urban will be in the NFL next season, most likely the coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

I don't know if Jerry will go that way. Garrett is perfect for the job, is fine not doing interviews, staying in the background. Jerry & Jimmy were best friends until the Cowboys won Super Bowls and Jimmy started getting recognition. Meyer in Dallas would be a media storm, and Jerry wouldn't be the epicenter.

I read an article earlier that said that the new USC AD wasn't necessarily targeting Urban Meyer, and that if USC was targeting him to be their new coach, they would have gone a different direction when choosing Mike Bohn, the current AD at the University of Cincinnati.

Meyer's son currently plays for the Bearcats' baseball team, but other than that, the 2 have few ties. The article said there were a few other Athletic Director's USC could have gone after that had closer ties to UM, but the University President chose not to do so.

The article then referred to a long list of candidates other than UM that USC could be targeting.

I sincerely hope this is true. I don't want him in the Pac-12. Look at what he's done at Ohio State. There are a few other competitive teams, but they've been by far the class of the conference.

if the rumors about Urban enjoying the young coeds are indeed true you can bet he'll take the job if offered.

An LA Times article on Nov. 1st by Plaschke basically says Urb would not be a good choice because of his off the field management issues. Hope this ends up as being prophetic, and they don’t even offer Urb.

He reiterates the same thing in his column today.

But expect Bohn’s search to begin immediately, containing names like Penn State’s James Franklin and Baylor’s Matt Ruhle and former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops. Sorry, all you Urbanites, but Urban Meyer, with a checkered history of poor off-the-field leadership, should not be, and is not expected to be, on that list.

How many scandals has USC endured the past year? They agreed to a $215 million settlement for Dr. George Tyndall, don't know what happened with the 48 accusations against Dr. Dennis Kelly, the Dean of the med school was accused of using drugs and prostitutes, plus the "pay to play" admissions scandal. Bad enough the university president had to resign. Can they really hire a coach with more player arrests than a mob family who was suspended from his last job for probably covering up spousal abuse?

Sounds like Tallahassee may be a better fit.

I've thought that USC would/should target Urban but with his history and their history, they really do open the door to MASSIVE potential lawsuits if anything goes down during his tenure.
