After receiving commitments from the top player in California for both 2019 (Thibodeaux) and 2020 (Flowe), Oregon was thought to be a contender for SDE Korey Foreman. However, this race appears over not long after it began, as he committed while on a trip to Clemson yesterday. Definite bummer for the Ducks and for west coast football. To boot, #5 player in California, WR Beaux Collins, also committed to Clemson over the weekend.

According to the 247 Composite rankings, 3 of the top 10 players in California for 2021 are committed to Pac-12 schools, 4 are committed to schools east of the Rockies, and 3 are uncommitted.

Is he shutting down his recruitment, or still going to take trips?

To me, this says a lot about the state of the brand of west coast football. I hate to say it, but other than Oregon winning a national championship, I think what the conference may benefit most from is USC becoming nationally relevant again. California recruits thinking they need to go to states like South Carolina in order to play big-time football is not a good look.

It's tough to back this argument when he's going to be playing in the ACC. By far the worst power 5 conference. Clemson is literally the only team that keeps them relevant.

I disagree. I think it's an easy argument to make. South Carolina also is in the SEC. He said state not conference. Also, South Carolina is a hell of a lot like Georgia and Tennessee.

Agree that Clemson is the only relevant team in the ACC.., in its case it helps them. The recruits know that w/o breaking a sweat, Clemson is virtually guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.

This is why I start by saying "other than Oregon winning a national championship." If Oregon does that, they become Clemson west, assuming the rest of the conference stays hot garbage.

There's zero doubt Clemson has some great bagmen. I kind of get it now, but a few years back when they were mediocre and had never done anything, they suddenly started landing top 5 recruiting classes(was the same time that XBOX Tosh was at Cal/UW and their classes started to shoot up).

I guarantee they do, but at the same time, I wouldn't be shocked if Oregon did, too (along with washington, USC, et al). Who's ponying* up the most money, I have no idea.

Our recruiting classes have jumped substantially lately as well......

Whatever. Nobody can tell me that guys like Joey or Marcus or Justin took money. Maybe I am living in Twinkieland, but I still love that Oregon has developed so many 3-star guys into solid players.

I think it’s weird that the NCAA didnt investigate Clemson after the FBI wiretap caught one of the basketball coaches saying that both the football and basketball programs were paying players.
