In what looks to be the final HS addition to the 2020 class, Oregon has gotten the commitment and signed LOI from 4* DL Jayson Jones.

Huge, athletic dude. He has a lot of technique stuff to work on but Coach Joe a lot he can mold.

Not a bad way to marble out a class with a project DT, always a position of need. I always remember how the Ducks flipped Wade Keliikipi from Hawaii at the tail end of the 2009 cycle. If Jones works out as well as Wade did, I'll be thrilled.

Good read from Jones about his recruitment. Bama stopped recruiting him, then tried to circle back but with a late enrollment. They tried stringing him along, kid dealt with some depression. Jayson also says he lost 54 pounds from August to November, which makes sense considering he didn't look that out shape on the visit pics.

Yeah, Jones is a 4* kid, who has crazy long arms. If he can learn technique, he could be really good. Most P12 guards won't be able to handle his length, once big joe and Feld get his body and technique right.

Got the size and length to be a good D-lineman.

I wouldn't call him quick, but his speed has improved. He's lost 50 lbs in 3 months. (down to a scrawny 6'6 325lbs)

That's an incredible weight loss.

As Johnson continues to work out and develop his skill set, quickness and speed will likely improve considerably as his body recovers from that weight loss.

That would put me at my college weight... Sheesh!

Claims he has lost 61 pounds in four months. 380 to 319. He sure looks like it, face looks like a grown mans now. Looking like this will be a great late pickup. Guys his size and athleticism are rare, especially ones willing to put in the work.

That is a remarkable weight loss/muscle gain. Alabama may kick themselves for cutting him loose since he was basically one healthy off-season away from looking like the 4* recruit he was before his knee injury.
