Oregon is battling Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, and Michigan for Xavier.

This is particularly interesting too because Thornton and Franklin are big time WRs very high on Oregon. Sounds like Oregon will take 3 WRs this class (We already have one in Kyron Ware-Hudson), but I bet wed take all 4 of these guys if they wanted to commit.

Getting some elite speed at receiver is one of the things the Ducks need to do in order to reach the next level. This would be a good step in that direction.

We havent had a guy who could consistently take the top off the defense at the WR position since..when? Sammie Parker?

I have read they will take all 4. This class will fill up soon, BUT will take the top tier guys should they commit. This would mean they need to push guys out. It's a real possibility.

Let them commit to Oregon and sign first before thinking Oregon will force some guys out. December is 7 months away still.

Xavier Worthy shouldn't be considered a tier below Franklin and Thornton as a prospect. He's got just as much chance to be a big-time college receiver as either.

Charles Nelson
Devon Allen
Bralon Addison
DAT
Huff
Jamere Holland (slight reach)

I may be forgetting a speedster from the 02-05 range but I can't recall one. The last couple of years have been below our standard at WR if we are being frank, but we have had a lot of talented speedsters at that position over time.

I'd add Derrick Jones, but he lacked consistency and the ability to stay on the field. However, when he was on the field, I feel like he was always a threat.

Pat Johnson was one of the fastest dudes I’ve ever seen. Dunno his speed(times) but with pads on he looked very fast.

Pat Johnson was very very fast. He was before Parker though. Just in my specific response about players after sammie.

Addison didn't have elite top-end speed, but he was really good at getting open. Devon Allen..what a missed opportunity. Could have used him vs. Ohio State.

Yes I know pat was before sammie, was just stating how fast he was. Sammie was bad fast. The pass catch from harrington to Parker in the fiesta bowl....turned on the jets

Carrington was also fast and had that wiggle to get open. We could have also used Ifo.

Of those guys only Allen ever really did it consistently. DAT if you count him as a WR.

Wow i went back and looked at the yards per reception. Huff average 18 per reception in his last year. that definitely qualifies.

Addison and Nelson had pretty pedestrian Yards per reception. Surprisingly DAT had a pretty weak Yards per as well. But he definitely changed the way teams played defense against us.

Huff and Allen both could and did take the top off the Defense though.
