Anyone know much about him? He's on Quackwatch, committing the 4th, and one of the ScoopDuck mods predicted him to Oregon with high confidence. I haven't heard his name before....

If he commits does that take a spot away from Thornton or worthy? How many wr is Oregon going to take this cycle?

Yeah, if this does happen I assumed it meant we may be out of the running for at least one of them or we like him more. He most resembles Thornton.

Sounds like he is wanting to commit to us. If we take him, it may just become a 'claim your spot' race between Worthy and Thornton. Thornton doesn't want to decide until the All-Star games and it sounds like Mario may not want to wait that long

In all my years as a ducks fan, this is the one position we end up having to settle for lower on our board because we miss out on the big names often.

Looks like Wiltfong just predicted Brevard to Oregon with "High Confidence" so it's basically a done deal he'll be quackin on the 4th.

I'll also be curious to know how this impacts Thornton going forward. Brevard (4.68sec 40) is definitely being recruited for a different WR position from Worthy so I doubt it impacts his recruitment much unless they've completely cut bait with Worthy for grades or whatever other reason one could imagine. If they did, then I'd imagine it was a scenario where now they're just trying to fill the open WR position with best remaining player available on their board.

I'm going to respectfully disagree...It's ALWAYS been Defensive tackles...

I wonder if Worthy has been talked into choosing Michigan and that has opened a spot for Brevard and he's pouncing on it?

It sounds like the mom also wants him at Michigan. It's nice to have so many options at WR, but really too bad if Worthy is the casualty, given his more unique skill set. It seems like the ducks have been getting a lot of 4-star guys lately, but none of them are dominant receivers. Brevard feels like another Addison, Wilhoite, Crocker 4-star recruit with a high chance of turning out to be a dog. Hopefully the coaches can develop a few of these guys into more.

We do already have Seven...if he sticks it'll be interesting where he lands on the roster. I'll take Brevard and Thornton this year

Yeah, finally looked at Seven's highlights and man, he could definitely be the speed answer... If Brevard and Thornton is the finish, that would still be an insane WR haul..

Seems like some people were blindsided by this turn of events.

The scuttlebutt is that Worthy was taking too long, and Brevard wanted to commit now. Moorhead wanted to take Brevard’s commitment. Plus, Worthy is getting talked into Michigan by Giles Jackson and his mom.

Giles Jackson was the 2019 recruit we strung along. Turned down his commitment. Looked like the Beavs for a bit then he winds up at Michigan. Big miss. Had a decent freshman year catching the ball and running it, scored a few TDs. Took a kickoff to the house. I was really wanting him to be a Duck. We haven’t seen Wilhoite or JR Waters, but Giles looks better than Delgado, he might have been our second best freshman WR behind Pittman.

But I’m not disappointed in not getting Worthy. Even without Thornton, a WR class of Franklin, KWH, and Brevard is as great as you can hope for. We could use a smaller speed WR, but maybe Seven/Delgado/Kris Hutson can fill that role. Waters and Wilhoite are fast as well.

In any case, we’ll be stuck with the most WR talent we’ve had in years by 2021.
